If you are into anime fighters or a bishoujo (lit. pretty girl in japanese) fan, This game may be for you. It is an all-girl fighting game featuring girls of various anime stereotypes: schoolgirls, demongilrs, lolis, doggirls, nuns, chinese mecha shoujo girls, etc. But don't fooled, this game is deep, fun, innovative and borrows concepts from popular fighting games such as Street Fighter, Guilty gear, and more. For those who want to check it out I recommend watching a couple of youtube matches.Sugoi! Arcana Heart 2 is actually an update to Arcana Heart 2 vanilla. In this sequel,7 new girls with new arcanas join the 11 returning characters and their respective arcanas from the first: Heart Aino, Saki Tsuzura, Konoha, Mei Fang,Lilica,Yoriko,Maori,Liselotte, Kira, Kamui, and Fiona who wield arcana of Love, Lightning, Nature, Fire, Wind, Death, Earth, Darkness, Water, Time and Metal, respectively. The seven new heroines are Petra a double plasma gun wielder, Catherine Kobayashi who pilots a giant mecha and also has a kansai Japanese accent, Dorothy an aspiring little magician girl, Zenia a soft spoken yet mean brawler who literally packs a punch or two, Clarice and Erza two nuns; one demon and the other human, and the final boss Angelica Avalon the younger sister of Mildred Avalon who was the boss in the first game. Each girl respectively wields arcana of Holy, Magnetism, Mirror, Ice, Sin, Punishmet, and Light. The updated Sugoi! adds two more characters Akane and Nazuna Inuwaka, two doggirls who wield arcana of sound and flower, respectively, bringing the roster to 20 characters and 20 arcanas enabling 400 combinations to freely customize your favorite character with any arcana much like the first game.The 3 attack buttons square, triangle and circle which corresponds to weak, medium, heavy and the homing button X are left unchanged, however special and elemental attacks are now assigned to the fourth button R1 instead of the X button. This is a big improvement from the first game because you can do special and execute elemental attacks much easier than with the X button which you may unintentionally do homing instead of your elemental attacks. Each returning character also has new moves. Two new mechanics have also been added. "Arcana Blast" by pressing R1 and circle temporarily boosts your character with enhanced abilities depending on arcana at the cost of one gauge and drains with countdown on the gauge. The second is called "Critical Heart" which is synonymous to Street Fighter 4's ultra. This will cost 3 gauges to execute just like Marvel vs Capcom 3 series' level 3 hyper combos.This game is a lot of fun and deep but unfortunantely fails to bring the awesome arcade experience home unlike other fighting games for consoles that surpass their arcade counterparts. The game was so rushed that its flaws are difficult to overlook such as are bad loading times, lag and slowdown, reoccurring shaky graphics, and randomly sound muting of characters or the music, no BGMs in gallery mode, no stage select, lack of menu details in training mode unlike the first one. The game is not bad and still playable but the sloppiness of the developers rushing the game has made it a total letdown that it's virtually not worth the buy, especially, if you live near arcades that have this game you may not bother with this poor rendition of the fabulous arcade game.On the other hand, if you can overlook the game faults you can still enjoy the game since it has both arcade and a full voice story mode and for the price of at least $23 as a used copy it is a worth adding to your collection; otherwise, you can hope that they bring as a DLC to XBlive and PSN which may emulate the arcade experience or just stick to the better 2D fighting games. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Just an average fighter *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2019* The action is meh..
