I have never fixed/replaced a cracked screen/digitizer on any device perviously. I'll tell you about my experience as well as the product.My 1 year old knocked my iPad 4th generation onto the floor and shattered the screen (see photo below). I was a bit upset as I personally can't justify buying a new device for my children. Instead, I reviewed videos online and various forums on DIY device repair. Keep in mind, I have never attempted such repair before, so I have no comparison of alternative products.After reviewing, I chose this solution based on the forums and other Amazon reviews. It was also a selling point that this solution included the digitizer (with adhesive strips already applied), home button, camera mount, ribbons, and all tools required. I understand I paid slightly more than other solutions, but sometimes you get what you pay for.The kit arrived packaged extremely well. I laid out all of my tools and followed 2-3 videos online simultaneously. My screen started off cracked into a small number of larger pieces, and after heating and prying I quickly broke it into many many more. I kept a vacuum handy to vacuum between blow drying as to not blow glass shards all over my kitchen. Prying off the screen was the most difficult step for me.After prying and disconnecting the broken screen/digitizer the next steps went surprisingly quickly. All together, my repair took 1 hour and cost $32 (product plus 1 day shipping).I am extremely impressed with the product. The replacement was much easier than anticipated (although I am fairly handy when it comes to household repairs). The screen looks and feels great. I don't notice any difference between this screen and the OEM. I'm extremely happy this kit came with a bezel as I damaged the original when prying open. I rate this a product a 5/5 for ease and overall fix. I would absolutely purchase again and would recommend to family and friends. I will keep this post updated if the product fails at any point. Thank you for reading. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as long as you REALLY push in the connector hard *by J***I on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2019* This was a great buy for me. It came with all the tools I needed to chip away the old digitizer and scrape off all the extra glue and broken glass. Once that was done I disconnected the screen from the board and plugged in the digitizer and reconnected the battery. It booted up but the digitizer didn't recognize any touch. I noticed the white lines on the connector were seated fully it seems. After double and triple checking things I googled what was going on and tried to REALLY push in the digitizer connector. I seated it until the white lines were no longer visible. It took a good amount of pushing and honestly worried me that I'd hurt the cable, but I didn't end up hurting it. It was bent and kinked a bit during the pushing but it worked fine. I pushed down on the battery connector area to reapply power, and when it booted the touch screen worked perfectly. The only thing I'd recommend is getting some additional screen wipes. The ones included hardly handle one surface. If you end up like I did, removing the digitizer lower protection plastic cover due to troubleshooting, you won't have enough wipe material to go around. I made due with a little elbow grease and the soft dry cloth it came with, but it wasn't ideal, and I think I could have gotten more contaminants and streaks out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome Replacement Digitizer! *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2018* This replacement screen worked perfect! It came with everything to complete the repair. My WiFi antenna was not damaged when I removed the screen so I didn’t replace it. The frame for the screen (which was included) was totally necessary because the old one broke into about 5 pieces. Unfortunately the glass was so broken it took a little more time to clean out. After I got all the broken glass out I tried rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover to get the glue out. The glue remover that worked best for me was goo gone. Goo gone made it effortless to clean. After all the glue was off I finished cleaning with rubbing alcohol. The digitizer was a little finicky and it took a few times of plugging in before all parts of the screen started working. There are a lot of options for digitizers but why settle for anything less than the best! This comes with everything you need and more. I had one of my screens replaced on an iPad at the mall and you could see the lines of the digitizer which drove me nuts. You can’t see the lines of the digitizer with this kit! I would highly recommend anyone looking for any digitizer to use one from OmniRepairs.
