It's a nice strong base and texture. The clamp covers up the microSD card flap though, and it's not that easy to snap back off.Really the only downside to this is after folding back the cover behind it makes the tablet go back to sleep. I have to keep my finger between the back of tablet and the cover if I want keep it from locking for a short time.---- UPDATE ----I found that I've recently needed to take out my MicroSD card, and this case covers the insert flap up. I had a hard time popping out my tablet today, and the cases' hold is so tight that it grabbed the middle of my tablet and started pulling my tablet apart. It was scary... But after carrying it for several weeks, it has gotten less stiff around the edges where stiffness/scratchiness was previously an issue. But top magnet so strong it continually put tablet to sleep when folded back. Once I removed the top magnet it worked great. It is difficult to remove the tablet due from the case. The case does cover the microSD slot, so I made some alterations to open that section.
