**Q: How well do these absorb water? i need sterile pads for a non medical purpose. will it absorb about 8 drops of water well?**
A: These are very low quality, and not 8-ply as alleged.  I don't know how to explain it, but the weave of the thin thread is so separated that you can see right through it, even folded in 4 as they come. Not sure if they would absorb even just 8 drops of water. I returned them.

**Q: What ply are these pads?**
A: These pads are complete garbage.  I think the manufacturer forgot a decimal point.  Maybe 1.2 ply would be believable.  Put it this way - get some Target Up brand toilet paper.  Take a sheet, fold it in half.  What you have in your hand is about as thick, and probably more absorbent, then this "12 ply".

**Q: Are they non stick with adhesive tabs**
A: The Dealmed Sterile Gauze Pads, individually wrapped, absorbent, 4" x 4", 100/box are non stick. They do not have adhesive tabs. These gauze pads are plain Sterile Gauze Pads, all gauze U.S.P. Type VII. On the box it states: "Not made with natural rubber latex", just natural weave Gauze. There is one Gauze Pad per paper package. 100 paper packages/ Box.

These 4×4" surgical pads are perfect for wound care & cleaning wounds. Bought these to help clean my dog's surgical incision. They are sterile gauze pads, soft & not scratchy. These are also great to add to my first aid kits that I have around the house. Professional grade & well worth the money.

I am currently using these 4" X 4" Gauze pads. I like them the best for what I use them for. I have tried several other type. Please note that there is 100 ea of these pads in each very thin walled About 6" cubed box. I used the Pad box to hold the first boxs of Gauge pads on as shelf in the bathroom and which tooked over a Year to use. That box looks rather tattered. Along with these pads, I also orded a tube like container of tea and another item. These were all place in a Cardboard shipping box, about 6" X 8" X 12". " WITH OUT ANY PADDING". When I opened the shipping box, I found a 6" cubed thin walled box blown out, and 100 ea 4" X 4" scattered all over the inside the shipping box (note the shipping box was not damaged). This was one time, I would have liked own a smart phone or Table. I would have enjoyed sharing a picture of the inside of the box. It was a rather funny a sight to see. I really don't know, how I will store the pads for ready use, over the next year. I am thinking about returning them, but I am running out and don't know if the next ones will come intackI would have to say I am not a big fan of shipping without padding. When I find something I like, that I will use from time to time, I will usually by in larger quanities to save money and time. I have notice that several shipment I have received lately from Amazon, the inside boxes were rounded from hammering around inside the shipping box and will not stack neatly (even wobble), so they will not stack as high on storage shelves.

I am required to inject myself several times every week, and I need sterile pads to use first to place my syringe after I remove the protective top and bottom of the syringe, and then I need to use the pad to press against the injection spot to prevent a scab from forming should a drop of blood want to sneak out. This size gauze pad, a big 4 by 4 inches, makes the process easier and the product quality and packaging are excellent. I definitely recommend, glad I noticed they were there on Amazon.
