3.5mm panel mount gold plated jack with nickel plated solder terminals. Gold plated jack for superior connection. Mounts in a 3/8" mounting hole in panel up to 0.07" thick. Plastic housing.

Review: Worked great with a little trimming - I used this to remove the permanent cable from a set of Beyerdynamic DT 990 headphones. The stock cable is too long. I had to trim some of the extra plastic on this snap in jack and had to shorten the "wings" a little, so that the jack would snap into the headphone housing securely. The headphone housing plastic is a little too thick for this jack without a little trimming. The final results look professional and now i can use whatever length cable I want.
Review: Well built and does what you want - This is the perfect solution when you want to add a 3.5mm jack to your vehicle. I used this to connect to my built in speakers on my truck to play music from my iPhone. This was mounted on my dashboard. What makes it perfect are the 2 ears that will hold it flush against the 3/8" hole I drilled. I had to trim the ears a bit because of the thickness of the hole. Once that was done, it created a firm hold when placed in the hole.

Very nice. project turned out great. I am a novice at this, but... here is what I did. Took the rca cable that I needed, cut it in half. Then insert the half with the plug (which I didn't need) into this jack. I then proceeded to test each wire with the continuity tester, to see which wire corresponded to the three points on the jack. Two wires went to the top, and one on each side, soldered the ground wires together, and installed it with a touch of glue. It looks good, and the music sounds great in the car, better than my bluetooth alternative.
