Review: All round decent keyboard. - I've had this keyboard for about a month so far. Looks good, has cool backlight options. Seems sturdy enough. Three issues keep me from giving this 5 stars though. The first issue: I realized the cord wasn't going to be long enough to reach my computer, so I bought a usb extension cord. The keyboard will work . . . sometimes, and then will just stop working completely. So make sure the cord will reach your computer. The second issue is actually quite annoying sometimes. I will be typing and the last letter I push will randomly start repeating. Sometimes it happens a lot. As I've written this review it has happened 5 or 6 times. The more you type the more it will happen. I know this marketed as a gaming keyboard, but if you plan on doing any more than a modest amount of typing then don't buy this keyboard. The third issue is also related to typing: The enter key is half the width on this keyboard. This problem can be overcome through practice, but it is super annoying at first. I would keep hitting the \ key over and over again, but now I'm used to it. TL/DR: If you type a lot, don't buy this keyboard. If you mostly just game and light web browsing, it's a cool keyboard. UPDATE: Seller reached out to me to replace my keyboard. Got the keyboard two weeks ago and finally got it plugged in a few days ago. Sticky key issues seem to be resolved, no issues so far. I would do 4.5 stars if I could because of the half width enter key, but other than that it's a decent keyboard, so 5 stars.
Review: Great value for the price! - I absolutely adore my Redragon keyboard. It's super well priced for all the features it has. This is not a mechanical keyboard, but it is still a very very good keyboard. The keys are really responsive and click really well with a nice tactile feedback you can really feel! It's not the quietest keyboard but it isn't obnoxiously loud either. I get compliments on the look and feel of it all the time. There is a knob used to change the LED color, and while it would be better to have each key lit individually, the leds in this keyboard do really really well at lighting everything up. For this price point it's about the best you can get in my opinion. I do like how you don't have to have any special software for this keyboard to use all of its features, everything is physical so it's just a plug and play keyboard. Very good as a first gaming keyboard for sure. The color combination and style of this thing are both superb. The build quality is great for the price but it is an all plastic design. It's lightweight and has little 'feet' on the bottom that fold out so you can get that slight angle of elevation for comfortable typing. And it features a braided cord for durability and anti-tangle. I use mine in conjunction with this matching mouse, also made by Redragon: Redragon M801 Mammoth 16400 DPI Programmable Laser Gaming Mouse for PC, 9 Programmable Buttons, 5 User Profiles, Weight Tuning, Omron Switches, Black Overall, for the price I give it 5 stars. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a really good gaming keyboard on a budget! If you have any questions about this product, feel free to ask me and I will answer to the best of my knowledge! And if this review was helpful to you, please consider leaving a positive rating!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some drawbacks, but overall a good budget keyboard (Read full review)
*by J***N on September 23, 2015*

**THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE ASURA K501 KEYBOARD** I'm writing this because the majority of the reviews listed were for the S101 keyboard and I didn't see too many for the Asura, so here we go. NOTE: IF YOUR KEYBOARD OR MOUSE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN YOU TURN YOUR PC OFF, IT IS **NOT** A PROBLEM WITH THE KB/M. GO INTO YOUR BIOS SETTINGS AND LOOK INTO YOUR POWER OPTIONS. Every motherboard is different so I can't tell you what option it is, but basically, your PC keeps USB ports powered to charge phones and stuff, so just turn that behavior off and then you won't have the lighting problem anymore. I don't see why people would say bad things about keyboards or mice because this happens to them, when it is a BIOS problem. THE REVIEW: I took a gamble on this keyboard after being EXTREMELY pleased with the Redragon Centrophorus mouse. Unfortunately, the keyboard is not perfect like the mouse is, but in my opinion, it is really decent. You need to figure out what you want in a keyboard before you consider buying this one. At the price point ($35 when i got mine), it is mostly a good keyboard. It took me a few days to get used to this keyboard, but this happens when you change out anything that you use basically daily. I didn't like the feel of the key presses at first, but after using the keyboard for a week or so now, I am actually a fan of the "squishiness" of them; while you certainly won't get mechanical switches on a keyboard this cheap, if you don't care about mechanical switches, all the better. I don't particularly care about them, as I mash the keys pretty solidly when I type, so I don't really fret about having a tactile response to let me know when I've pressed it. I will talk about some of the drawbacks, neutral points, and positives to the keyboard, with the negative first. DRAWBACKS: Key quality: See attached picture. When I first used this keyboard, the Enter and Right Shift keys were super sticky, and after pressing them, would remain stuck down. I was on the verge of returning it but I mashed the Enter key a ton of times and got it not to stick anymore. It works normally now. The Right Shift key still sticks badly, but I never use right shift so I can honestly deal with that. If it gets annoying, I'm sure I could file down one of the key cap's sides to prevent it from happening, but again, I can deal with it. If you pick up one of these, test all your keys to see if you have any issues. THE NEUTRALS: Key cap shapes: The Enter key is not really conventionally shaped; look at the product image. It is fine after you get used to it, but if you used a two-wide or full L-shaped enter key before, be ready to make some mistakes when you use the keys around it. Build quality: you get what you pay for. The keyboard is plastic all around, but personally I have no problem with it; I like the black and red look as it fits with the rest of my build. If build quality is important to you in a keyboard, look elsewhere. This definitely doesn't have the same great build quality for the price that the Centrophorus mouse does, but if you don't mind that, you'll be fine. THE POSITIVES: Gaming performance: I've encountered no problems; I ran a key ghosting test using Microsoft's ghosting demo and was able to press all these keys at once with no problems: LeftCtrl, Shift, Capslock, Tab, Q W E R T Y A S D F Z X C V Space. So you will almost certainly have no issues with key ghosting during gaming, which is excellent for the price point you can get this keyboard at. LED options: I really like the option to change LED colors and brightness, and I use this feature plenty. The lights look really great in low lighting situations. There is also a "breathing" option you can enable using key presses that slowly cycles through all the colors while fading in and out. It also looks pretty cool. Macro features: The macro features are useful. I've only used them a little bit, and you do have to read the instructions to understand how to use them. I doubt anyone could figure out how to program the macros on this on your own. Keep the manual! CONCLUSION: That's pretty much it. I like everything else about the keyboard, and if it keeps working for about a year, I will almost certainly pick up another Redragon keyboard in the future. I'm pretty happy overall with it, despite the small flaws. I rated the keyboard 4/5 stars because it has some small tradeoffs and drawbacks, but is still quite good. Overall, I'm happy with it, and will keep using it until it breaks, which hopefully won't be for a long while. Thanks for reading!
