I first discovered them a few years ago at a pet store in Hilton Head. What sets these apart from the Dirty Dog runners was the backing. Dirty Dog had a wonderful non-skid backing, but required the mats to be air dried (and are much heavier when wet). The Soggy Doggy mats did not have the non skid backing, but they soak up just as much water, and are easier to wash and dry. Perfect for helping to dry your dog after a bath or a swim... and saves your floors!While I do appreciate the non-skid backing and the claim you can still dry on low, our washing machine did not ring out enough water to allow me to put it in the dryer (could be a problem on our end). So, I put it outside to air dry during the day until it was not quite so heavy and I could put it in the dryer. I just checked on it, and the binding is coming off in one place on the mat... and it's brand new. I would not have washed it yet but the puppy peed on it. I don't think I would have ordered the XL if I'd realized it had the non-skid backing.
