They provide the right amount of cushioning; soft and comfortable under my knees, yet firm enough to be supportive. I do not feel the floor through them. They do not slip. I use them on top of my yoga mat. I had a total knee replacement on one knee two years ago which is still (and always will be, uncomfortable to kneel on). The other knee needs a total replacement also, so kneeling on that knee hurts as well. These pads have allowed me to continue my yoga practice with very little discomfort.
