I did not need the length & outlet plug. Took a little work to modify the chain length, cut the wires, and install as a replacement ceiling fixture, but it worked. Only thing I didn’t like was that the copper ground wire is separate from the electric wiring, and you can see it since it’s exposed. It’s on the inside of a stairwell. It sets the tone for the entire basement apartment. I love it with the lightbulb that we packed too (The lightbulb is not included). It was very easy to install. It came with a regular plug that you can plug into an outlet. If you do not need this you can shorten the chain and trim the plug off so that you have the correct length.
