## Description

The Gaiam Essentials Yoga Mat is a classic, do-it-all exercise mat for yoga, Pilates, stretching and floor workouts. Its 1/4-inch (6mm) thickness gives the right balance of cushioning and stability. It’s thick enough to protect your knees, wrists and hips on hard floors and firm enough to keep you grounded in standing and balance poses. A textured non-slip surface gives you dependable traction for flowing from downward dog to warrior. At 72" long x 24" wide, the extra-long mat fits taller men and women comfortably from head to toe, whether you practice at home, in the studio or at the gym. It weighs just 3.5 lbs and rolls up compactly. The included easy-cinch carrier sling lets you strap it up and go, with no separate yoga mat bag needed. Each mat is made from non-toxic, 6P-free PVC, free of DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP and DNOP. That makes it a healthier choice for you and the planet. Care tip: Unroll your new mat and let it air out for 2–3 days before first use. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, and keep it out of direct sunlight to help it last longer. Specifications: 72" L x 24" W x 1/4" (6mm) thick | 3.5 lbs | Includes carrier sling.

Review: Solid everyday 6mm mat with a strap that actually works - This Gaiam Essentials mat is a straightforward 1/4-inch (6mm) PVC yoga mat with a textured, sticky surface and a simple cinch strap. That’s the whole product, and it does the job well. 6mm is the right middle ground. It’s thicker than a thin travel mat, so knees, wrists, and hips get some cushion on hard floors, but it’s still stable enough that you don’t sink or wobble in standing poses. The texture gives decent grip for yoga, Pilates, stretching, and floor workouts. It isn’t a high-end rubber mat for dripping-wet hot yoga, but for home practice and gym use it stays put. Size is a standard 72 x 24 inches (some Gaiam Essentials versions run closer to 68 inches long), and it weighs about 3.5 pounds. Easy to roll. The included strap is a real plus — roll the mat, cinch it, and carry it over a shoulder without buying a separate bag. A couple of practical notes: • New PVC mats smell. Unroll it and air it out for 2–3 days before first use. • Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Don’t leave it in the sun or it can get brittle. • If you want thick gym-mat padding, this isn’t that. If you want a light, grippy daily mat, it is. Good value, no-frills Gaiam mat I’d buy again for home or class
