It's not like in the picture. When you take it out its in a draw string bag, but the base of it isn't strong enough to hold you up. The whole thing is just felt with metal slabs inside and it instantly collapses. It's literally impossible to sit on.

this is an excellent portable seiza chair...IF you are already used to sitting in seiza unassisted and/or sit in seiza with a zafu for meditation.I can throw it into any bag to ease long meditation sits while traveling when packing a zafu simply will not work.The chair is one piece, a loop of very sturdy fabric, with two boards located so that it creates a trapezoid, the long stretch of fabric between the boards is the seat and the short stretch touches the ground.If one is new to seiza this will be more comfortable than unassisted but not by much... for those unused to seiza it takes many hours for the muscles, tendons, and joints of the legs to comfortably stretch in this position.
