Would definitely recommend if you're interested in cryptozoology and love beautiful books. ### ⭐ Come for the pictures, don't stay for the hateful writing *by D***J on 29 May 2025* My husband bought me this beautiful book for my birthday because it contained the artwork of the amazing Lisa Seika Jones and she does not let you down here. Her paintings and sketches in this book are gorgeous and awe inspiring but unfortunately the book also features text. For some reason in this whymsical book about fantastic fantasy creatures the author insists on dragging you back down to Earth with her views on sexism, racism, poverty, sexuality and more. Sadly she finds any excuse, if men are mentioned, you know she'll have something awful to say about them etc. I had to stop reading about halfway through and just enjoy the beautiful artwork, it was so intolerable. The author doesn't add much creativity, fun or new perspective to the subject either, mostly saying that any given creature has XX feature but they don't know why.
