Review: Ready to start landscape painting - I read lots of reviews of artists easels, I thought the Mont Marte easel offered light weight, good stability and seems well made. Assembly was easy and the tray for pencils etc really useful. One tip I picked up tightening the main clamp to set the tripod and easel angle still allowed to parts to move, however purchasing 4 rubber washers 20mm diameter to fit between the wooden legs and easel support at the point of the main clamp totally stopped the unwanted movement. I have yet to use the easel outside on uneven ground. As has been said in other reviews a suitable carrying case would have been worth paying a little extra.
Review: Good Sturdy Easel - I bought this easel for my artistic grandson. At the moment, he has set it up in the garden and is painting away! As a 13 year old,he is capable of setting it up and it is sturdy enough to last for a long time. A good purchase and value for money.

**Q: Can it be used by a normal height person standing without slumping?**
A: That's a tough question, because there are a lot of variables at play.Short answer is it's possible not to slump while working when standing at the easel.  But you know yourself best.  So you should imagine how you work by the factors below.When I measured the easel at its most extended, the height is 74" (6' 2").  But that's the top of the clamp.  It takes about four inches to get to the bottom of the top clamp, which is where your canvas would start at 70" (5' 10").  You probably wouldn't do a lot of detailed work at the top edge of the canvas, so much of your work will concentrate a few inches below.  Depending on how big your canvas is, the top "margin" from the focus of you work could be, say, six inches, bringing much of your detailed work at the level of about 64" (5' 4").The average American woman is 5' 4", and the average American man is 5' 9 1/2".  Your eye level will be a few inches below the top of your head.So if you're an American woman of average height, you could probably stand at the easel and not slump much while working.  If you're an American man of average height, you would probably have to look down somewhat.  And it depends on if you have a propensity to slump when you look down.

I read lots of reviews of artists easels, I thought the Mont Marte easel offered light weight, good stability and seems well made. Assembly was easy and the tray for pencils etc really useful. Relatively Sturdy Easel when its done up tight enough. Easy to store and not complicated to assemble. Fairly easy to clean aswell. My only gripe is that the bottom and top of the vice sticks out a bit too much. It can be a bit of a pain when detailing they can be obstructive but nothing you cant work around.
