This provides a good foundation, including attitude, piano repairs,piano parts drawings, music theory, etc. Its written many years ago. I'd couple this purchase with the following however: If you have an IPhoneor even a computer, get the IPhone app: APTuner for about $5.00. You won't need an expensive $40 meter like I purchased if you do that.I got my tool kit on amazon ...the #1 Rated Piano Tuning Kit by Miriam Song for about $35. Its "Good Enough" for the non-professional. The two things you need the most are the big handle to adjust the strings, and the little rubber sound dampers when you work on the strings that come in bunches. The other thing I recommend is to watch several videos on You Tube describing how to tune your own piano. From watching a number of these, it takes away the jitters and you just plunge in. Learning to figure out which string to attach your device to, and how to adjust the tone up or down to find the perfect match of "Zero" on Octove C3 is quite the challenge...but once you get the hang of it, the rest of the job is fairlyeasy, if you are patient and willing to put in the time. Good luck and know that you'll appreciate your well tuned instrument much more after you've learned to keep it in tune yourself. A one time investment in tools and training will more than pay off with musical pleasure down the road.Be intrepid. Where the information may still be valid the writing style is out of date and very wordy. There are NO pictures or diagrams. Not even the picture shown in the advertisement. It does not look like what is shown. It looks like a Xerox copy of a type written manuscript. The author assumes only men would ever learn to tune a piano and makes references to documents that are out of publication, but are required reading before you can proceed. Although Google searches can fill in for it. ### ⭐⭐ Kindle edition is worthless with no images *by I***O on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2016* Unfortunately the Kindle edition has no images / diagrams / pictures whatever which makes the book a waste of time. Had the images in the book been translated to the Kindle view it might have been ok. Without these the point references are meaningless to someone who is a novice as I, myself, am.If it had the images in it, it might have been of some worth.
