I love being prepared for the probable power outage, and I try to get something for disaster preparedness every couple of months. Well, this purchase came at a fortuitous time, because I got it not knowing we would be facing hurricane Florence just a few weeks later. We were lucky and our power stayed on and we were expecting a category 4 where we were but instead got tropical storm. Still, that being said, we were prepared with this light.It didn't take long for it to charge and the light is pleasingly bright with different settings, one for distress and an SOS setting too! I've ended up using it as a reading lamp, as an emergency light in the car and the house when the lights go out, and unexpectedly, the kids fight over it. The light also comes out of the side, very strongly so if you're using it to talk in the dark outside, enough light shines up in your eyes that your pupils dilate and make it harder to see the dark path. The clip feels also a bit flimsy. I would hang this by the back door, to grab and go before running out into the yard, and if you have thick gloves on and grab a little roughly, it feels like it could snap. But I like the size (small) and shape.
