That gets distributed 4-ways with this 4-port hub, so if you have 4 devices pulling the power evenly, they would receive 0.125 (or 0.25) amps each. I think about 0.5 amps is what certain higher-end devices would require, like 1080p webcams and stuff. Typically mice and keyboards would be far less.Not all hubs give you the option to plug in a dedicated 5V plug. Many of the "powered" hubs, will also work without the plug, too, for smaller devices. This is nice because they sell it as a non-powered hub (which are typically less expensive) but you have that option to power it if you need it, without buying a new one. I can't tell from the pics what the plug is, but 5V is likely a micro USB plug, like you use for your phone. So you are likely to have one laying around already.
