We used it so much it cracked. Who knows how many plastic we ingested over the years. The goal was no plastic this time around. This unit is stainless steel all around except a glass lid. Perfect to limit plastics. This is a big unit. You can easily steam enough for a full, large meal. The double decker was something new for me. Keep in mind whatever is on top will drip on the bottom level. See the pictures for some context. You could steam several ears of corn. You can do a search for the correct length of steaming for whatever you’re making. The box contained a box to give some ideas. The unit is sturdy- well worth the money. It’s easy to clean. After a couple of uses, I do see some calcification on the heating portion. Clean that after each use, or you’re going to get buildup. Keep in mind what you’re buying - this isn’t a microwave. You aren’t going to steam veggies in a minute. This takes a minute to heat up the water in the base and get going. But once it gets going, you’ll see steam coming out the hole in the top. In all, wish I had bought this sooner. It’s been well worth the money. I got nothing for this review. Hope it was helpful! This is a perfect additional to my cooking appliances. It features four different food settings with timer and auto shut off if there is no more water in the base. Heats up super fast and cleans easily. The convenience of being able to steam two different foods at the same time is perfect for fast meal prep. Would highly recommend. ## Features - Our steamer basket is for use with our electric food steamer to increase the steam space. Therefore no BPA **Q: Is there anything you could imagine needing to stream longer than 90 minutes?** A: If your trying to steam Hardy veggies like orka, rutabaga, squash, then yes it takes longer to get a softer texture. **Q: When steaming water in food will flow to the bottom of the pot. so how to wash the bottom of the pot when there is electricity. you say it's easy to** A: The plug is removable allowing you to clean up the bottom part without a cord flopping around. But as with any appliance like this don't get it wet. I've been cleaning it out with a spray surface cleaner which has been working great. All that collects in the bottom is water from whatever you're steaming so it's not like it's nasty. Just dump, spray and wipe out. **Q: Does it have a separate rice bowl? If not, how do you steam rice in it?** A: No. There is no separate rice bowl. You need to prepare one by yourself. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great unit *by H***T on April 20, 2026* I had an old plastic steamer, and it was junk. We used it so much it cracked.
