### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SYBA SI-PEX40071 8x PORTS Internal. Don't worry! This will make it work for everyone.
*by K***G on May 17, 2015*

I don't know why the people who gave the card 4 or 5 stars did not help out those who did not. I don't get their motivationsI must be crazy for giving this card 5 stars. I only give it 5 stars because it works perfectly. When I first got this card, I was very happy. I have 19 hard drives in my system and it's one big pain, having to use 3 different cards. I did not have enough ports for all of my HDDs and the PCI cards are SIL3124, SATA II. I I had assured my customer I could get anything to work. I am a technician. I read the manual. The difference between me and end-users? I don't get overwhelmed when presented with a problem. I was close to having to seasoning a couple of dead crows when I figured it out. I know everyone is not blind. The drivers on the disc and the drivers online are the exact same drivers. Right? Not so fast! I may have inadvertently mis-directed my less than positive compliments a little too hastily towards the wrong parties.First, you are using a PCIe x 16 port correct? You need voltage to get this card where it wants to be. 2nd, make sure that the port you are putting it in, is not sharing it with another mission-critical device. This is just basic stuff. Important, but not so relevant.First, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS FROM SYBAUSA.com. You will see two drivers that are zipped up. Download both drivers to the same directory. I have WinRar, so extract each to it's own folder. Put Details on each folder. I arranged mine by name, size, date, type.I am running Windows 7 x64.Here's the difference. There is no difference. And yet there is. It's enough to make you a little ticked off. The and the SI-EX40071 drivers were built on June 20, 2013, whereas the 92XX zip.zip drivers were compiled on 6-5-2013The 92XX zip.zip drivers are older and are 43.2MBThe SI-EX40071 drivers are newer and are 42.5MBThe detailed size of the 92XX zip.zip "amd64" drivers are 415,185The detailed size of the SI-EX40071 "amd64" drivers are 414,76992XX zip.zip drivers were built on June 05, 2013The size of mvs91xx.sys is 319KBThe size of mvs91xx.inf is 7KBSI-EX40071 drivers were built on June 20, 2013The size of mvs91xx.sys is 320KBThe size of mvs91xx.inf is 6KBmvs91xx.sys gains 1 bytemvs91xx.inf loses 1 byteI was glad to find that they were different. You cannot exactly call them up and find out what the differences are. That does suck. As for all of us that use SYBAUSA's products, we know that they make reliable parts and they are a whole lot cheaper that having to consider Rocket or Areca or LSI. As for people that are still having difficulties, leave a comment and I'll get an email and I will do what I can. I am usually swamped with my computer business, but I don't mind helping others.Use the SI-EX40071 and you will be a happy but underpaid geek.Use the 92XX zip.zip drivers and well.....those do not work as you already know.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So far so good
*by J***N on December 1, 2017*

I got the 8 port PCI x2 card and for now am using it in a spare x1 slot in my Dell XPS 8700. It works great, but since it's an x1 slot instead of an x2, only 4 of the ports work. I wasn't sure if it would work at all in an x1 slot, so half the ports is just fine.

### ⭐ Read this my expansion card using/seeking friends, its the truth.

Unfortunately, all the previous reviews are right....Let me start off by saying that the lineup of cards by SYBA and/or IO crest have always impressed me. You can get excellent cards that work well for the price. I literally have a whole host of them. Lookup the SYBA PEX40064 for example. I am using 3, yes, 3 of those bad boys in my server pc right now and i can see and use all 12 hard drives, no raid or anything, just a straight laced 4 port sata expansion card. Card boots fast and works well. I can still use my 4 onboard sata II ports as well for a grand total of 16 ports. I save the 2 sata III ports for an SSD. The number of cards you can use may vary, as my motherboard has 3 pcie x1 2.0 slots. For info purposes, i use a msi z77a-g45 motherboard.I even still use their earlier sil3132 and asm1061 stable chipsets. However, the latest marvell chipsets or card chipset "dual" combinations are for lack of better words: s***. They dont work, or maybe part of the card works.Enough is enough Syba/Marvell/IO Crest/IO Media/whatever the F you people name yorselves these days. (Excluding the chipset maker‘s name of course)Either fix the bloody firmware issues with your cards, or take them off the market. Simple as that. Oh and do some quality control on the 4 port esata + 4 port internal sata card while your at it. Just please do.Oh and shame on SYBA or AMAZON (whomever the damn greedy culprit is) for the ridiculous pricing of this card. $100 effing dollars? Really? I could buy two, yes, two pci e x4 cards or a really excellent 8 port or even 16 port sas/sata card for this price or slightly more. Heck, even this very site sells cards from other manufacturers that perform better and are cheaper. Amazon even advertises them right next to this trash of a card.Oh as to the one reviewer who gave this card 5 stars, i call bulls***.Either you got paid, or you are a total douche who doesnt understand what should be the full functionality of your purchase and is only using like 2 ports, maybe 4 ports tops.As you can see, i am angry. Yes, i am. I hate when a manufacturer starts shoving out garbage for the public to use and charges exorbitant prices to buy it. I mean, if the card worked maybe... but a non working expensive garbage piece? Sure, sure, i will throw my hard earned money at it. The entire computer user population are a bunch of idiots huh SYBA?Oh by the way, and yeah you guessed it, I returned the bloody card.
