We didn't have any issues with the velcro straps. It was also WINDY and though the tent swayed a few times it stayed up right all day. What REALLY impressed me though was how easy it was to put way. You press some buttons, remove the canvas, and it accordions up. The carrying bag is wonderful. It has rollers and made it really easy to pack up. I honestly LOVE this tent. It was high value for the money. We stacked it down, but the canopy and sides basically turned it into a hot air balloon! I'm in the Carolinas and it was NOT that windy out....but after about a 1/2 hour, the frame bent (1 leg and then the canopy frame)....after that, it had no real purpose. We took the sides down which helped. But once the BBQ was over, the bent pieces wouldn't allow the tent to collapse. So we had to disassemble with pliers and BREAK some of the metal pieces to collapse it. Smh! I bought 2 tents...and once we saw what was destined to happen, I didn't even open the second one.
