It is a bit noisy, but I was impressed by the appearance of my pale gold carpet after the clean and rinse. It reduced the odour of cat substantially too, I have an elderly slightly incontinent cat. While we protect and spot clean as much as possible the machine did a good job. **Q: Can you use this on a regular basis as just a normal hoover?** A: Se didn't use as a normal vac. Just toclean carpets **Q: what is the noise ( dBA) when using the cleaner** A: I have no clue as the graduated calibration scale on my hearing is unreliable.
