It has a low melting point, good fluidity, and can flow into brazing seams with small gaps. It is generally used in the electromechanical and instrument industries to braze copper and brass parts that are not subject to impact loads.Phosphor copper welding rod is suitable for welding copper and copper pipe joints of refrigeration systems of air conditioners, freezer and refrigerators.Phosphorus copper welding rod do not use flux when welding red copper pipes. Phosphorus is a reducing agent that can reduce cuprous oxide and generate phosphorus oxides floating on the surface of the weld. Phosphorus copper welding rod have good fluidity and self-brazing effect. All other silver-copper rod use flux.If the heating process is slow during brazing, the copper-phosphorus solder has a tendency to segregate, so the heating speed during brazing should be as fast as possible. After soldering there is a silver solder flow that is left on every joint. The rods were supposed to be of copper phosphorous, not of copper phosphorous silver makeup. I'll buy from rio grande next time.
