Review: I love it! - I just received my Blackberry Q10. I looked at so many different phones & reviews, it was exhausting. I was afraid to buy an (outdated) Blackberry but I wanted a keyboard & an unlocked AT&T phone that I could slip in my micro SIM card & go. LOVE! $184 and free shipping, so, cheaper than the cheapest non-keyboard phone at the AT&T store (there are no keyboard phones available at my AT&T store). And cheaper than almost any decent phone. It is a 2013 model but—it came quickly (2 days)—it is brand new in original factory sealed Blackberry box with all accessories (phone, charger, earbuds, manuals). I have had 2 iPhones and most recently a Samsung Galaxy Note3 hand-me-down from my mother that I used when my last iPhone went kaput. My Samsung wouldn’t power on at all this past week so I had to buy a new phone but I didn’t have the hundreds or thousand dollars to buy the ones on the market. So, went to desertcart and since I’ve always wanted a physical keyboard (I despise touch screen keyboards), I started looking at different brands but the Blackberries seemed to be the best bet. So glad I chose Blackberry. Set up was a dream. I am still setting up a few things like email, but everything so far looks fantastic. Here is my review for people considering this phone: I wanted a phone mainly for calling, texting, emailing, a little internet browsing, checking a few websites, driving maps, decent camera & video. That’s it. I don’t need or want a whole bunch of apps or games and I don’t plan to use this to watch movies or long videos or long periods of internet browsing/shopping/reading/writing. I have an ipad at home for those things. It is more than fine for doing some of those things if I really need to (time on my hands stuck someplace away from home etc) but like I said, not for lying in bed for hours watching a movie/video. I don’t want to be on my gadgets 24/7! I read real books in bed and put my phone across the room at night. If you are looking for a phone with a large screen to watch lots of videos and movies on, this is NOT the phone for you!!! It has a small screen. Videos play fine on it, and the browser & youtube are fast and convenient, it is just a small screen so not for endless hours like cuddling up & watching a movie, do you get me? Yet, you still CAN, and it will be FINE. Youtube works great on it, I love watching YouTube & desertcart prime so I can see myself watching occasional videos on those 2 venues, both of which are on this phone as well as FB and Twitter. But I will reach for my ipad to watch most movies & videos. It has a flashlight on it and lighted keys and a lot of features that I didn’t expect. Folks, this Blackberry is well made and I can certainly tell the difference between it and all the other phones I’ve owned. Take that as you will. WiFi and internet works great. The keyboard is incredibly intuitive and tactile and it makes texting and typing fun instead of the annoying constant mistakes and unsatisfactory feel of the virtual keyboards of most phones. There is a touch screen as well and it works beautifully too. And, no annoying constant pop up ads that my Samsung would fling up every 2 seconds! No way to get rid of them! And billions of apps I didn’t need or want and no way to get rid of them either! So, the Blackberry, with no ads, and just the most important apps, is very much appreciated. I am very happy so far. I didn’t rate the battery or tech support as I’ve only just gotten it, but it is charging well and all indications are great. This is a great compromise for those who don’t want a basic no frills no-WiFi no-internet-browsing flip phone yet also don’t want the full on iPhone/android large touch screen with tons of useless apps, ads, & meant for lots of watching movies/videos and doing your whole life on it. So happy with this purchase. Exceeded my hopes, I highly recommend! EDITED: The battery lasts two full days before I have to charge it again. Better than any phone I’ve had. Also, I found that this phone does not allow live streaming so that is a minus. However, I can watch the video afterward. If one of my top priorities were watching videos/live streaming then this would have affected my decision to buy. So if you watch a lot of live streaming, then this is not for you. But, since I have been watching some videos since I got it with no problems whatsoever (even with small screen, am very pleased), and everything else is exceptional, I am more than ok with it. Great buy, maybe the best I’ve ever made on desertcart!
Review: Another great blackberry product - I'm a blackberry nut for some reason. I just like having a physical keyboard for one. I also think it their products are well made and innovatively different. I've had pearl flip phone and a 9315 curve before this. I had the curve for about 4 years and loved it. At the end it didn't seem to hold a charge anymore. I'd gladly have bought another one but they don't make them anymore. The BB os 7 on it worked perfectly for me. A small but very efficient phone for call emails texts and many other uses. The trackpad, keyboard and blackberry button for menus worked perfect. So did the removable battery. I didn't care about its mediocre internet browsing or game playing or camera taking capabilities. When I went to the t-Mobile store they didn't sell BB anymore so I just took a chance and ordered this q10. It's a discontinued unlocked phone. I had seen it several years ago when it sold for $600. I believe I paid about $115 brand new in a box with an at and t and logo. I just put a sim card in and it worked fine. I updated it to the current10.3 system. Their is a learning curve with this phone. It's more sophisticated the curve and trickier to use without the trackball and blackberry button. After about 2 months of use I'm more comfortable with it, but sometimes use the wrong gesture. The hub is nice once you know what it does and how to navigate with it. The browser is way better than the curve. Most things are better than the curve, just not as easy to navigate. It's also bigger than the curve but way smaller than the passport and a bit smaller than the classic. For what was available for a reasonable price this was the right choice for me and I'm glad I bought it. The accesories are dirt cheap also. I hope it lasts a long time. I think the current BBs are more like android phones and the build quality isn't as great. When I first got the phone my battery charger seemed to last about a day and a half. Recently it seems to have declined to almost a day. I'm not sure why. I just ordered 2 new batteries to see if that helps. I'd be bummed if the phone was already acting up. I've also had a BBplaybook for 5 years and it's still going strong with heavy usage. I expect the same with this wonderful blackberry product. In many was its the perfect phone in the perfect size. Canada has at least 2 great things: Ice hockey and blackberries.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi, I'm from Germany and I'm desperately searching for a BB Q10 which is affordable for a student's pocket :-) Will this devise work in Germany?**
A: You would likely use model SQN100-3 which is for Europe and Asia because it can use channels 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, not SQN100-1 which is for America because it can use channels 2,5,4,17. I notice both work on channel 5, but I don't know how much that may help or hinder the device. SQN100-3 supports carriers like EE, 02, Rogers and Vodafone. You can learn more by searching for tables that show the different models of the phone.

**Q: is there any logo on the phone？**
A: Mine has an AT&T logo

**Q: does it have removable battery**
A: Yes, and it is cheap, and last a looong time of regular use

**Q: hi, what is model this phone? sqn100-1, sqn100-2, sqn100-3, sqn100-5. this phone is totally new? this phone have everything sealed plastic?**
A: Yes. It was totally brand new and sealed in plastic, right down to the screen. It's SQR100-5.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nearly perfect phone and OS.
*by J***L on July 5, 2014*

I need my phone to work as a communication device, not a mobile game platform. In this regard, the Q10 excels. The BB10 operating system provides you with a 'Hub' that has all your messages in one easy to navigate spot, and is easily accessed with a quick swipe of the finger from pretty much anywhere. 4 stars because there is a severe lack of configuration options. This is mostly fine, because the defaults that have been chosen aren't too bad. However, it doesn't seem possible to include your own tones / music for the provided / native alarm clock application. The configuration options for notification sounds and such is also fairly limited. I'm also bummed about the lack of a native XMPP / Jabber client, the Google Talk app is great, for Google Talk / Hangouts, but only allows 1 account logged in at a time, and doesn't, of course, allow for any other XMPP services. I was also hoping the maturity level of Blackberry World would be superior to that of Google Play, but after seeing so many 'sex master' apps, the answer is a disappointing 'No'. This bugs me, because improving the quality of software available in Blackberry World would make Blackberry the brand to beat. I'm tired of searching for a calculator or other simple utility, only to find 20+ of varying levels of quality, all with 3-5 stars. It would be amazing If I could count on the apps I find to be of a certain level of quality. In spite of the flaws, I was tired of Android and the build quality of this phone is phenomenal. It feels luxurious, like a well crafted product that was meant to last for longer than a 2 year contract. The keyboard is also a dream to type on. I'm not as quick as I was with Swype, but I somehow enjoy the experience more.
