I use them to scrap stuck 'stuff' off my cast iron and stainless steel pans. They're great for removing stuff and they don't damage the pans. It seems like one of the sides always fits the part of the pan I'm trying to clean. These really are great. Be aware that these don't last forever. It's a great skillet. I had the chance to actually use the Lodge Pan Scrapers and they are sensational. Not only were they good for scraping the food off the Lodge skillet, but because they are made of some kind of strong plastic-like material (and hence do not scratch like a metal scraper or Brillo pad), I used them to scrape off adhered on food on my Fat Diddio food rings 9 (which are 18 gauge stainless steel) and the ultra-sticked-on price label that was attached to my stainless steel Thuong Long Vietnamese 8oz. coffee pots that are used to make Vietnamese style coffee which is made using condensed milk. These Lodge Pan Scrapers removed both of these last mentioned adhesives against stainless steel without scratching the stainless steel. So I cannot recommend this more highly. Thy are terrific. Can I use them while the cast iron is still hot?** A: They are not heat resistant and cannot be used while the pan is hot. Warm, sure, but not while hot. I melted one of mine slightly due to the pan being too hot while scraping. **Q: What is better--these scrapers or the chain mail cast iron scrubbers?** A: Stainless steel chain mail is far healthier. These are made out of Polycarbonate -- which is made from Bisphenol-A (or a sister Bisphenol compound, B/C/D/E/G, etc., which are just as nasty, if not worse) -- so these scrapers contain large amounts of BPA. Using this product is going to coat your cast iron with BPA micro-particles (or worse). **Q: Has anyone used these on nonstick pans and are they safe to use on them?** A: These are made of plastic, much like a spatula you would use on Teflon pans. I think they would be fine to use on your nonstick pans. **Q: Why the blunted edges? Certainly don't work on gum and labels as advertised.** A: I use my scrapers for cleaning my cast iron cookware. The edges don’t mare the surface while cleaning stuck on food. Works great for the cookware!
