Review: Brillant MUST READ - Such important information. This is a thin book (perfect for notes and marking points you like) and easy to read. The subject is vital and he makes it easy to understand and absorb. He provides places for you to jot down things you think of and may want to research. Excellent book. Everyone needs this information... My one issue with the book is that he constantly tells you to discuss things with your doctor. I have tried on several occasions! My doctor has no training in nutrition and has no training and vitamins. She tells me to take 1200 mg of calcium. Well, that’s way too much to take it one time! and dangerous and down right wasteful. Also if you try to dissolve most calcium tablets in acidic liquid like vinegar or lemon juice they should dissolve in 30 min—her recommended brand (sold at the pharmacy) was still whole after 3 DAYS. —Anyway, leave it to say that the whole industry has some bad players and you need to do LOTS of research!!! Especially on dosage, absorption and combination. After that you have to deal with the tsk-tsk of the pharmaceutical industry and a few doctor eye rolls. So… in reality this book has information that is vital.. and, in addition, might encourage you to clean up your diet and exercise too! It’s a win win and you will be so grateful you spent the $ for this book. Keep reading and learning—and stay well.
Review: Solid information on vitamin K. - Well written and well researched, this is a good comprehensive look at vitamin K. The doctor recommends supplementing with calcium and magnesium along with vitamin K. One point I would add to the information in the book is that the best way to get calcium is through your diet. This requires some research into calcium levels in food. If you choose to take a supplement, do not take calcium carbonate. It is very poorly absorbed. Use calcium citrate malate, or another more readily utilized form. Do your research. The best way to take magnesium is by using magnesium oil. It is transdermal and by rubbing it into your skin you will get the most "bang for your buck." You should also take vitamin D (also recommended in the book) in the D3 form only.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great applicable information
*by W***Y on April 24, 2018*

Terse, informative, and readable, Dennis Goodman places great emphasis on the need of Vitamin K2 for proper bone strength, aging, and health. Osteopenia and osteoporosis are degenerative bone diseases but a combination of vitamin K2, vitamin D, and calcium can prevent these conditions from occurring. Often times, we hear about vitamin K1, which is important for blood coagulation but does little in going beyond that to perform the same functions as K2. The mineral calcium relies on K2 for proper absorption to bones. To aid in strong bones and healthy aging vitamin K2 is required to maintain homeostasis between keeping coronary and blood vessels calcium free and maintaining strong bones. In order for vitamin K2 to be able to properly perform this function, it would need vitamin D to pull calcium from the gut into the bloodstream. Goodman is clear and intentionally repetitive throughout the book, allowing the information to stick for the reader. Great, applicable information.
