Inviting text and graphics, already using it with tutoring students
Imagine that you feel stressed, tired, and scattered. Rushing from one task to the next, family dynamics pushing and pulling your patience, feeling like you are constantly taking orders from others. Now, imagine that you're a kid with limited skills to handle these demands. That is where Mallika Chopra's Just Breathe comes in.After reading this on NetGalley (thank you!), I was convinced that my tutoring students and parents would benefit from deep breathing, meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and movement exercises.I was not disappointed. The target audience is tweens, but people from age 5 through 95 can develop techniques to increase focus, calmness, and, yes, energy. Two of my more boisterous students have already benefitted from imagining a place where they feel safe and happy, coupled with deep breathing. In just ten minutes, they went from sleepy and unfocused to feeling more calm and centered. Parents and grandparents give these activities their endorsement as well. With ample white space and simple, serene graphics, this book beckons the reader with chapter headings such as Breathe, Move, Be Silent, Notice, Ask Questions, and Create.[book-info number="1"]The reader feels invited rather than instructed and this makes a difference to kids who feel stressed from academic expectations, rushed schedules, the pressure to win, or any of the family tensions that we all experience.Just Breathe.(Thank you to NetGalley for an electronic Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.)

Soo good we pre ordered the next
My son is 9. He has ptsd. I accidentally bought 2 books. I gave 1 away to my Sons therapist. She is already well educated of course but it is what my son wanted to do. Together they do yoga, gratitude list, etc. in between there visiting itβs a good daily reading and reminder of how to center as life arises regardless of conflicts, life occurring, that he can ref that book. There is a great index of topic like bullies, trusting ones self, yoga, etc, my son asked to walked me thru various steps, naturally I agreed .. it was wonderful to see him learning via teaching me for example from what he read from he book (Thankfully he is a seeker and willing to learn. Every child is so unique. This book is perfect for my son). I have pre ordered the next. I canβt stress enough the importance of interdependence π π it was such a lovey chapter

Yoga and meditations for kiddos!
I'm a psychotherapist and reference and use this book all the time!! There is something about when kids see the yoga poses and kids doing yoga, I think they think it's cool. My favorite part of this book is the diversity of the illustrations of the kiddos!!! Btw, I love the meditation for headaches.

Awesome! Kid & Family techniques for everyday wellbeing.
I love this book. I bought it for my Grandson to help him find ways to keep friends, enjoy the little things about life, relax during stressful times and focus on his wellbeing. He's 11 yrs old and just began the 6th grade, this book reminded him how to calm down when frustrated.π Teaching these techniques will benefit the whole family and those around them.π
