Alright
I thought I'd read all of JM's books but I somehow missed this one. Its an older one that is a little absurd in some aspects. For example Lauren takes off on a road trip with Nick - a man she doesnt even know- after telling him she's new in town and knows no one. So basically if he wants to take her to the woods and kill her no one will miss her. No one with any sense would do that.Lauren's character is basically a mash up all the heroines from the author's hustorical romances. I could have skipped this one and read Almost Heaven or Whitney My Love and been fine... that being said a just OK Judith McNaught book is still better than a great book by most of today's romance authors. This author really knows how to tug the heartstrings.

Overall entertaining, but rushed...
Lauren was a spunky character! The story was so riveting & funny, that when it ended, it was too abrupt!!! For me, some loose ends that JM could of closed were w/ Jim & Erika, and Philip & the mistress. Also, we never found out who the spy was. These characters could of been extended a bit & added more depth to the story & closure. If u read Paradise & Every Breath u Take, BEFORE this, you'll see the difference, when i say "added depth." Too bad JM didn't spend more time to extend this story properly, rather than try to finish this fantastic story by a deadline.

Great author, Great stories!
I just finished reading Double Standards. Judith McNaught is such a great writer. She has such great characters and wonderful plots. Her books have depth to them. This was another great book of hers.I recently read her novel, Paradise, on Kindle Unlimited. Liked it so much, I immediately ordered a paperback copy. Then I discovered I had copies of her Sequels Series, and had marked her books A+++ to read again, especially Almost Heaven! Every single book of hers that I've read so far has been a terrific read, so much so that I now have all of her books that are currently available. She is one of my favorite authors now.

3 stars
I have read several books by this writer. Three of her books are all time favorites. A couple have been losers for me. I will always take a chance on one of her books. I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it. It read like a made of TV movie on one of the romance channels. Which I am not a fan. If you like those soapy type of stories you might enjoy this book.

Judith is my favorite author of all times.
My greatest wish is for her to continue writing. This book is in my top ten of hers that I've read and read and read and read again since I first discovered her 11yrs ago. There is just something about Nick that has always drawn me in - more than likely thr little boy in him.

Excellent!!!!!
Romance novels don't get any better than this!! This book gets a 10 on romance! A ten on alpha male lead ! A ten on virgin heroine! A ten on humor! A ten on plot and a ten on intrigue! When Nick gets mad because some sends Lauren a huge bouquet of roses and remarks "you must've gotten a lot better" then she says " I had a better teacher " I literally laughed out loud! Great book!!?

If Love is meant to be...It will....
Have read this book at least 7x’s....just love the story line...maybe because the heroine is such an inexperinced young lady...and finally learning to grow up..and deal with realities...Love this author ...all her books are wonderful...Have read them all many times....

Worked for me!
Spunky, witty heroine - loved her! Hero is a bit of an ass but I couldn’t help loving him too. Not as good as her historical romances but this might be my favorite of her contemporaries. My only complaint is that the ending is too abrupt - I wish JM would give the reader more time into the happy ending. The dialogue between nick and Lauren was so witty and funny and romantic - I think this was the best ive read from JM in that sense. I got through the book in one sitting! Definitely worth a read!

But the story is amazing. Very unrealistic never gonna happen in real life ...
Unlike most other Judith mcnaught books, this book is t nearly as long as the others. But the story is amazing. Very unrealistic never gonna happen in real life but very heart touching all the same.I love ALL of the Judith mcnaught books. I wouldn't put it in my top 3 Judith mcnaught books. But definitely worth it and definitely an addition to my collection.

Timeless
Judith Mcnaught brings her characters to life. I have never read a book she wrote that I wasn't in love with.
