Gives firm grip On connections. You can see insulation curling around each other while twisting. Pricey but they come Prepacked with antioxidant gel. A must have for Aluminum wiring. For those who have electrical that is outdated (Aluminum), this product comes to the rescue. For the value, it is well built, seems durable, as some existing wiring before we purchased our home had these wire nuts installed, which means they last a long time. It was really easy to use across my home for the wiring that wasn't pigtailed with copper, and now I can breathe easy knowing that my wiring is safe in my home. One note, ensure that you don't have excess copper when pigtailing at the end, same as aluminum, or else the wire nut will not work and fail to twist.

These wire nuts are for making copper to aluminum connection safe. They work perfectly but just be aware of the fact that the nut can only be used 1 time so make sure all your wire connections are correct before putting the wire nut on. If you make a mistake and then try to use the wire nut a second time the connection will not work and there will be no power. I learned first hand on this so learn from me and don’t try it. These are not cheap connectors but they are the correct connectors for connecting the two different materials.

These are the same as what you get at the big box stores, only cheaper. Used to connect aluminum and copper wiring. These are special because they are filled with ox-guard or other brand name of black nasty material that helps contain the wire connections and reduce chance of fire. Copper and aluminum wiring expands and contracts at different rates and arching can occur leading to fires. These are rated to prevent this from happening.

Connecting Copper wire to Aluminum wire is NEVER a good idea, especially in residential wiring. When two different materials are place together {connected}, there is always that chance of corrosion or oxidation that can occur. I have seen something simply as a lamp assy aluminum wire corroded and burn in an electrical box inside the building's wall. Scary? Yes. Even though, these wire nuts might be spendy, they are the only twist type that is UL Listed for CU / AL connection. One important 'thing' follow their instructions carefully and DO NOT attempt to reuse this wire nut.

These are great for homes that have old aluminum wiring. The twister have penatrox inside, so no mess!

When it’s not feasible to replace aluminum wiring, these work well and are an approved method for “pigtail-ing” copper wires onto the aluminum wiring. This enables use of a wider selection of modern receptacles and switches that are only compatible with copper. Very useful to have.

Worked for what needed. A bit pricey-$6 a connector.

Was having issues with burnthrough on the connector. I knew there were issues with the dissimilar wire types. This is the solution. Trim enough wire and resolve the issue. If you are in doubt, if one wire is copper colored and the other is silver colored, you need these.
