Wasn't fully recognised by our printer, but then it worked

I bought these in some trepidation as my Brother printers both get a hammering and I've always used genuine up to this point. These have behaved perfectly. One had to be re-seated to get it recognised on installation and they all produce a "?" on the ink display screen (fill level still reports correctly), but I was expecting that. Print quality is no different. They just work, exactly as they should.

I tried this brand because the previous once used although performed ok, the colours and the black were not as good as the original brother inks. Although these were slightly cheaper, this had no influence on my purchase, original inks are always so much more expensive. These fitted easily into the machine and were regitered a new cartriges although as after market make. My printer prints large images, text headline and a lot of small text, which all appeared the same as the original Brtother inks. Moreover, the usage consumption, is much better than other budget inks and as good as if not better than the Brother inks. The print head does not dry during spells of none use, and as of yet I have not needed to use the head cleaning function. I will by again, but that will be a long time in the future as the ink levels have hardly moved!

I’m all up for quality inks but OEM products are just not required and the big brands need to realise this. This is a fraction of the cost and does the same job, prints are indistinguishable from the OEM inks. The only difference is that the chipset on these cartridges show an error on the printer which tells you you’ve in effect saved money as they don’t register as official cartridges, that’s it. Every other function works correctly and the ink levels show as you’d expect. This is the second set I’ve used and I’m getting very similar levels of print quantity to the genuine cartridges also, so all in all a very good purchase and alternative to OEM brand. I shan’t be going back to the official cartridges and will continue to use these.

These worked fine when first installed but since they got to about half empty I have to run the clean function on the printer every time I want to print. Colours were initially good but are now muddy and not as they should be. Poor quality. Avoid Edit: since leaving the above review I have been contacted by the vendor to ask if I would consider changing my 1-star review to a 5-star review (or to remove it) in exchange for a £30 amazon voucher! How many poor reviews for this product has the vendor had removed I wonder? Do amazon care about that (I very much doubt it)? I originally bought this product based on the number of 'good' reviews. Hopefully if you are reading this review you won't make the same mistake I did. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I’ve replaced all the cartridges together. They all clicked into place except the magenta cartridge. On cleaning the printer nozzles the magenta is not printing. The other colours on the test print are fine. Please can you help? I’ve run cleaning programs on the printer but no change. Thank you Nicholas
