Jetboil Flash Cooking System

The Jetboil system is amazing. While Jetboils are designed for heating water, after studying different units, I bought the Flash because it appeared that it would work for a 9” pot or pan with the “Jetboil pot support” adaptor and it has a self-igniter.My wife and I took this on a 4 week camping trip to Baja. As others will attest, these units are very efficient and heat water very quickly (within a couple of minutes or so). (Watch for the yellow coloring to infiltrate the image on the side of the 2-cup mug. If you don’t need the water boiling, you can turn the gas off before the whole image turns yellow.)We only used it for heating tea water once or twice a day (often twice). We kept waiting for the first, small, 230g fuel can to run out, but it lasted for 20 days!Be sure you find a way to pack the unit up so the little wire used to ignite the gas is not bent. If it does get bent, you can use needle-nose pliers to bend it back into position. Otherwise, you can use a match or charcoal lighter to ignite the gas (I had a charcoal lighter in case I needed it). How I pack it: I put the orange gas canister base in the cup first; then the control/igniter unit in upside down with the “pot support” in place to keep the control/igniter unit high enough so the igniter wire does not touch anything; then I put a washcloth in to hold everything in place; then the mug’s cover goes on.I was advised to use Jetboil fuel cans. The unit will work with some other brands but may not be as efficient.

best camping purchase i have made all year (and i have spent some $$ this year on camping gear).when they say it will boil in 90 seconds, they mean 90 seconds.. and, to boot, i used a bottled water that was in my ice chest that had been in there over night (and plenty of ice left)...., and it still boiled in 90 seconds!!! no joke... i was shocked..easy to use, i'm very very happy with it.go git yerself one!

This little dude is a champ. I bought it for a long motorcycle trip, and it fulfilled all my desires (of the cooking variety). Throw this dude in a saddlebag with some Ramen noodles and a bottle of water, and you'll never be hungry again. Wish I'd had something like this hiking the Smokies as a teenager.

I havent used the one I purchased yet. However, I went on a backpacking trip and got to use my friend's. Much better than my old system (burner & pot) *when using packaged dehydrated meals*. If I was not going to use the packaged meals....would probably still use my old system. Efficient, compact, and lightweight.

I used this on a 9-day backcountry trip in Yellowstone and Glacier national park and was never let down... From making coffee to boiling water to purify.

This is the most impressive stove I have owned, and probably going to sell my other ones. Boiled water in 30 seconds. Cooked some instant mashed potatoes as soon as I put the pot on it was boiling in spots. Friend didn't believe me how quick it boiled, its now on his wish list. Definitely recommend this

Awesome hot water heater and stove with accessory. In both mine and my son'scook kit/pack.I will buy more from this company including another model jetboil. We never leave home without one.

Have owned this item for a month now.my husband used it multiple times when he was out in the field training. Each week hed come home saying how much simpler it is to use then his msr.Gas tank is not included but don’t HAVE to use their brand; we get ours from a near by outdoor/sporting goods store. The product itself is lighter then expected and all features have worked perfectly fine. No complaints here.

I took this on my gold DofE, which for everyone who doesn't know is 4 days, 3 nightsThis stove boiled all of my and a friends water for the whole of the expedition, still over half full (gas)It boiled the water super quickly, much much faster than the trangiea which we also brought as a group. As the stove unit is the same power as the trangia we had, I used us a lot less gas than the others in my group as this is far more efficient.The only problems I have with it is:That it costs a lot for a stoveDoesn't have fine control of the flame rateSome gas canisters freeze up and need shakingWhich cannot be done easily on thisThe flame also seems to go out easily in strong windsA lot of limescale builds up on the bottom of the container after heavy usage

This is one brilliant piece of kit. I have just returned from a 10-day camping trip in the Shetlands. I used the Jetboiler for coffee making a lot and also a little cooking. It is easy to assemble/disassemble and with the clicker option it is easy to ignite. I loved it!!

Like that it’s very fast to boil water. Dislike that it can be hard to control if you need to simmer your boil in the bags.

Bought this from Military Direct and it arrived early. Packaging fully protected the Jetboil. This is a compact and great stove one of the best I have had and used
