No, in looking at ones that are labeled as molded, this is definitely not molded. Its brim is hard, but the rest is soft.

Please explain, that if this is a one-size hat, why does it have a selection from 7 1/8 to 7 7/8? That sizing in itself doesn't make sense?

It's not a one size fits all. I have the 7 7/8 and it runs a bit large. I also have the 7 5/8 which is a better fit but actually a bit tight. Can't always get a perfect fit!
