Will anything happen if child is 1 year and 8 months? My doctor only give it to her is sh really needs it

I am not a dr, so please consult with your pediatrician. I have been using this syrup for both my children for years and am absolutely convinced it’s the best for shortening and sometimes preventing colds with runny noses. Been giving it to my younger one since she was about 18 months old, at the lowest dose on the package.
