Healthy Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener
A nutritionist recommended stevia as a natural South American sweetener to replace sugar and sugar substitutes that are chemically based. This seems to be a pretty pure version of the stevia leaf. I use it primarily in iced coffee mochas which mimic Starbucks version but without the sugar and high calorie count. The recipe for coffee mocha is: one cup cold coffee (I like French vanilla or hazelnut or creme brulee flavored coffees), 7 ice cubes, one and one-half cups almond milk, one-half cup lowfat milk, tsp dark cocoa and about 3 packets of this sweetleaf stevia. For about 150 calories you get 3 cups of delicious iced coffee mocha drink. All of the ingredients are healthy for you. If you have a sweet tooth and are trying to stay away from sugars and artificial sweeteners, stevia is a natural herb in South America says the nutritionist. The Japanese have been using it in tea for a century or more. Other stevia products have maltodextrin in them - this one apparently doesn't but lists inulin as an ingredient which is a fiber. This stevia has zero calories, carbs, glycemic index, artificial ingredients and aftertaste. It is also organic. Am very pleased with it.

Best stevia on the market
I started using artificial sweeteners years ago, when my generation was still innocent enough to believe the FDA would not approve any substance which might be harmful to our health. Since then I have wised up, mostly thanks to the wealth of information on the internet, warning the general public of the harmful side-effects of these artificial sweeteners. The list is alarmingly long. And for health risks, refined sugar has been revealed to be almost as heinous as high fructose corn syrup, so that left only agave, honey and stevia as sweetening options. My husband and I started using stevia about four years ago and have tried all of the different brands usually available at the supermarket or online. SweetLeaf is by far the superior brand of stevia and is readily available on Amazon both singly and through the subscribe and save program, which we use, the advantage being we never run out of stevia and always get the best price on the product. The only downside (and it's minor and easily fixed procedurally) is that when used in hot coffee or tea, put the stevia in first and stir, then add cream or creamer and stir again. Otherwise, if added at the same time, the stevia will clump.

All natural, but my taste buds identify a bitter aftertaste
This product is the most natural I have found so far and that makes it 5-Star for that. My problem with it is, that for me it does have a bitter aftertaste. Reading other reviews though I think that different people taste that differently. A friend of mine couldn't taste anything bitter and I definetely do, so it might really be my personal taste buds. The strongest bitterness I experience when using it in espresso and the bitterness gets stronger, the longer it has been disolved in the espresso. Before using this product I primarily used Truvia. Embarrasingly enough, I am in marketing myself, but fell for Truvia's marketing of an anything but natural sweetener. Truvia though is the best tasting sweetener out there for me, but I stopped using it when I learned it is not a Stevia-based, but really artifical sweetener. So, for those wanting to try the SweetLeaf sweetener, I highly recommend to try it out first, before buying huge quantities and see how you like it. I received my order of the 4 x 35 sachets yesterday and the shrink wrap was filled with the SweetLeaf powder, which was a real mess! I assume that one of the packets might have been open. That alone did not leave a good impression, as I believe that should have been discovered before shipping, but yet, that has nothing to do with the taste ...

Best Alternative Sweetner for Lowering Your Carbs
SweetLeaf Sweetener is basically Stevia, packetized in two teaspoon equivalent packets. For an alternative sweetener, Stevia is the best with the least chemical taste/aftertaste. We have used it in Chai, cheesecake, make-your-own teriyaki sauce, and even strawberry shortcake to sweeten the strawberries. Let's face it, nothing on this planet is as good tasting as real cane sugar, but Stevia comes the closest. It is actually very sweet tasting without a chemical tang or nasty aftertaste. We keep a box in the cabinet with a conversion table on a piece of paper showing how many packets are needed for various measurements (1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, and so on). You can find equivalency tables on the web. Two thumbs up for this excellent sugar substitute!

The Best Stevia
Hands down, the best stevia product ever. Period. No weird aftertaste or intestinal upset: just pure, organic, natural ingredients. The powdered stevia dissolves best in hot beverages, although it will sweeten cold drinks as well (SweetLeaf's liquid stevia works perfectly in cold drinks). I've been using SweetLeaf Sweetener, both packets and flavored liquid, for several years now and have sworn off all artificial (chemical) sweeteners -- a tough choice for someone who was a "diet-anything" junkie for years!

Gross.
I used this in my iced tea and it looked disgusting. It doesn't dissolve all of the way and sinks to the bottom of the cup leaving big, disgusting looking lumps of sweetener. Then when you drink the tea out of a straw, you suck in these lumps of sweetener which taste horrible! Very unappetizing. Ugh!
