Base broken in the package
When I received the first elliptical, it was broken at the front of its base, the protection inside the package was very poor. I returned it and ask a new one. When the second elliptical is arrived, again, it was broken but this time at the back of the base. I returned it and this time I asked to be refund. Same poor packaging same result, broken. These products are badly packaged by Proform themselves, and the plastic are too cheaper. Finally, I bought a Sole E20 which is more expensive but the package is more resistant and the quality and the finishing is much better than this Proform.

Good Product, Great Workout
I have had this product for a while now so I thought I would write down some pros/consPros:-LOVE the ability to plug my iPhone in to play music. The speakers are great. I was worried about being able to use the speakers and the fan at the same time, but the fan is very quiet and doesn't interfere-The resistance levels are great! they can really work to give you a work out.-The 18" stride length. This is one of the main reasons we decided to get this product. It seems like a lot of trainers have 13-16" strides. With our heights, the 18" is the minimum we would get. My wife is 5'5 and I am 6 ft. We both agree that a shorter stride would make it feel too bouncy. TIP: I highly recommend taking this into consideration when choosing a machine.Cons:-Just like in many other reviews, the machine does squeak a little bit (and we used ALL of the grease that was included). But it only squeaks the first couple minutes of the workout and then stops once you "get going".-I was pretty disappointed that this machine doesn't come with the power adapter. TIP: Order the adapter and the elliptical at the same time. We got the machine and forgot to get the adapter and had to go out and get it. It would have been much easier to just do in the first place-I'm not completely sure if this is just because we have it on carpet or not, but it seems to bounce back and forth when used. We noticed it much more at the beginning and tightened the front and back a little bit more. That seemed to help a lot. But it's still a bit "bouncy".Overall it's a good machine and when all is said and done, it gives you a really good workout (which I'm pretty sure is the whole point!)

Excellent exerciser!
I have owned the exercise machine for a few weeks now and it is great! I like the 18" stride length and the resistance levels. I have only reached as high as resistance level 10. Perhaps as I get in better shape I will get higher but at present level 10 gets my legs to burning in no time. Excellent exerciser, highly recommended!

Could buy better for 400 bucks
The machine isn't necessarily bad. It arrived quickly (within two days), it isn't as heavy as many other home ellipticals are, it is fairly easy to put together (I was able to do most of the two person parts by myself and I am a 100 pound girl), and it has many useful and appealing features such as the fan, ipod port, LCD screen, and cup/bottle holder, however it does have it's downsides. The most unpleasant downside for me personally is the loud squeaking. I had read other reviews that mentioned the squeaking before buying this elliptical machine, but none stated or stressed just how bad it really is. Mine gets so bad when my fiance (also a 100 pound female) uses it that it sounds like someone is running their nails across a chalk board. It is so annoying. I have sprayed all the joints with WD-40, and tightened all the screws and bolts as much as I possibly can. Another unpleasant thing about this elliptical machine is that I had to have 2 shipped to me because the first one that was shipped to me was severely damaged. When I picked it up out of the box, I noticed a long (about 12 inch crack) along the front left side of the plastic body of the elliptical, and a 5 inch long crack about a foot behind the 12 inch crack.

Arrived broken, have to ship back in box that cannot fit
This elliptical arrived with the large gray caps on the sides loose. After assembly it became obvious that there was no way to reattach them and that the elliptical had arrived irreparably damaged (i.e. plastic connectors were broken). To add insult to injury, I'm required to ship it back in the box it came in, which is far too small to contain the item now and had to be ripped apart to get the item out.Big mistake buying this item.

Amended review - not worth it. Poorly made.
I researched many elliptical machines before settling on this one. Overall, I am pleased with the product. I bought it for the days that I cannot get to the gym. Overall, it is sturdy and the quiet. (A lot quieter then my last elliptical!) The resistance level goes up to 14 and it is plenty of resistance to get a great work out. The programs are good - three 20 minute, two 30 minute and one 45 minute for each - weight loss and performance programs. My husband put this together with help from my 9-year old daughter in under two hours. He didnt have too much trouble - which I was worried about after reading the negative reviews on assembly.Overall, I would recommend this - it was a good price for a home machine. My only gripe - the stride at 18' seems a lot shorter then the gym machines - but at 5'5 I will just have to get used to it! If I was taller, I would recommend getting the Proform 10.0 as it has the longer stride.01/03/2017 - I have to amend this initial review. After only 3 years, this machine has broken beyond repair. At first, one of the arms broke at the weld. We were able to get a replacement part. However, the second arm broke at the weld as well. We were still able to use the machine as it only partly broke through - however it happened to the other side too. Tonight, It broke completely off while I was using it. Thankfully I have a thick mat underneath otherwise I would have put a large gash in my hardwood floor. Three years is not a long time for a product like this to last!!! Not worth it!!! (just to mention, we use about 2-3x a week, which is not a lot)

Very poor quality elliptical
This is not a good elliptical. It is poorly made, and not at all good value.Despite ensuring all of the bolts are properly tightened, it still squeaks from day 1. By day 7, it's squeaking really loudly. It needs power to operate, but doesn't come with a power adaptor. So you either need batteries (4x D cells), or you need to buy a 6V 2.5A power adaptor for it.The joints are all steel on steel, no ball bearings to be seen anywhere.Spend a little more and buy a better machine, this one is not worth wasting your money on.

Absolute garbage
I ordered this product from Amazon and when it first arrived I could tell it was poor quality. The parts are super thin, cheap plastic. When I took the product out of the box I could see white clips which held the wheel covers on were broken. Upon trying to put it all together and trying to find a fix, I found probably 10 or more small pieces of the cheap plastic broken off. I could have simply removed the wheel covers but have 3 young kids and this would create a definite hazard. Inside the box there is a number that requests you immediately call if there are missing or broken parts, I called and was basically brushed off and told to call amazon. Which I did.Amazon sent me a new one... WHICH HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUES!I now have 2 huge 165lb boxes sitting around my house awaiting another company to come and get these pieces of absolute garbage out of my house.STAY AWAY!

Perfect. Just what I was looking for.
I was stalking the earlier model of the ProForm 6.0 Elliptical for almost a year after doing thorough research at [...]. I knew from trying the floor model at Sears that it was a good fit for me. I'm 5'8".For the longest time, I could only find the Proform at a good price on Amazon.com, but they would not deliver to Canada. So I was thrilled when I stumbled upon the newer model at Amazon.ca and at a price much better than Sears. It arrived in a couple of days, my husband put it together himself, and it works like a dream. I love it. I read some negative reviews re shipping, but that was not my experience.Great product, fast and competent delivery, and it was easy to put together by all reports. I plug my iPhone in via the mp3 cable connection and listen through the speakers while I work out. The fan is quiet and effective as well. Our ceiling in the basement is low (under 8'), and I was concerned that I would be hitting the ceiling, but no. It's just fine. Lots of head roomThis fits me to a tee with regard to price, size, quality and overall value.
