REALFORCE R2 Keyboard (Full, Black, Mixed Key Weight)

Solid build and wonderful keyboard! Just plug in, type and enjoy!

I think anyone purchasing this knows exactly what they are looking for. They may feel the same way as well. I prefer the variable. As a long haul touch typist. It is easier on the fingers. It has reduced "thock" to begin with. So I would not want silent. APC can be a real pain to a serious typist. It is however great for gamers. So the better board for serious typists comes in at a lower price. More here but can be had quickly. My personal preference is Ivory. Even though I need not see the legends. So assuming anyone knows what this is. Done with all the "MX" toys. They are in the right place.

This keyboard is heaven to type on. There is a soft clump of the keys which reminds you of a horses hoofs walking on a cobble street. Very nice. What is not so nice is that all the letters are printed in black on black keys. Unless you have muscle memory for your number keys you will be out if luck. Horrible design issue which makes the keyboard essentially useless.

Didn't buy this keyboard directly from Amazon, Fujitsu Store instead. So here is some tips as to buying this keyboard: 1. Do not expect true QC quality. The QC itself is basically a joke because keycaps usually cannot align to one line. And the keycaps' manufactruing quality is poor although it is NOT as bad as a ABS keycap. 2. Some keycaps could make extra noise because of low fitting accuracy. 3. Do not get misled by Made in Japan, it doesn't mean too much since the quality is not priemum. Brands like Flico and Leopold will never do such things on their high-end products. 4. The typing feeling is good anyway. You could imagine it as MX RED plus. And also, this thing is suitable for gaming, just for typing. So if you are gaming nerd, this might not be a good choice anyway. 5. 55g weight is silghtly greater than cherry RED, but to be honest, this weight is actually more suitable. It feels for tight and satisfying comparing with mixed weitght's 30g keys. You would want this topre keyboard to have such a weight. 6. The keyboard itself is strangely heavy (2.5lbs-ish), although it looks like a pure plastic keyboard which could reduce its protability. (Actually it is due to the fact that there is a metal plate under the surface served as the support for keycaps. 7. Accessories is significantly poor than any other brands like Cherry and etc. I guess, again, it is some sort of Japanese tradition of making things - as simple as possible. (No puller, which is rare on high-end brands) All in all, it is a good keyboard because of its typing experience and it is a bad keyboard because it is significantly more expensive than most keyboard and the QC quality is also significantly poorer than most brands., and it is not suitable for gaming. Some rumors says it is close to membrane keyboard, and I actually would like agree with this statement. Make your choice. In order to accept this keyboard, you will almost surely have to stand something imperfect.

Excellent keyboard for programming.

This was a pretty disappointing keyboard. As some others have reported, it does not lie flat on your desk, so when you type, it wobbles. In general, I also found the keys pretty light. A little too light. Although I got the mixed version, it did not feel like any of the keys are 45g or 55g. Note that I have several Topre boards: HHKB, 660C, and 980C. All 45g versions. So I do know what the boards feel like. Obviously the wobble was a show stopper. But the lightness of the keys made me not want to try for another version to see if the wobble was a one off.

It's nice and quiet compared to my loud cherry blue's I had previously. I like the full form factor. Maybe I'll look for custom keycaps one day but I kinda dig the old school look.
