I'm not sure how long the 9v battery lasts (years?) but you can place it next to an appliance and forget about it until there's a leak. Worked for me when the hot water heater started leaking.

I think everyone should have these watchdog water alarms near any water source.
My plumber told me about these watchdog water alarms. Very inexpensive. I had a hot water tank leak. I got a new hot water tank put in and I purchased one of these watchdog water alarms. 2 days after I got the water tank put in the alarm went off! I purchased them for under all my sinks. It really saved me from having a mess. My new hot water tank was leaking!

Easy Breezy
Love that alarm only requires a 9v battery and no installation… I hate going to the basement but hate surprises even more. I have a mature water heater, and my plumber suggested the alarm to help but some time for replacing the heater.

I live in a 4plex. I already have one of these next to my upstairs water heater. After my neighbor had a dishwasher with a slow leak ( lots of damage) I bought another one for mine. Cheap insurance.
