These shears are fantastic for cutting Fireline when beading. They have nice precise tips, and allow you to make a clean snip on your line. The tips are sharp, so I keep some knitting caps on each end when I'm not using them. The handle also allows for a nice grip, and they are a really nicely made item that will last for years.

Bought these specifically to cut Kevlar rope, and for that purpose they worked flawlessly. Scissors, heated rope cutters, and razor blades didn’t make a mark on my Kevlar rope but these cut through effortlessly. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I just added this pair of Xuron cutters to my collection of Xuron pliers. I like the ease they cut Fireline and Wildfire beading thread. I have arthritis in my hands so the padded handles keep my hands pain free while using the cutters and other Xuron pliers that I have. Will definitely recommend this brand to others who do crafts.

I absolutely love these cutters. Of course time will tell how long they last. I bought them to cut Fireline which is notorious for ruining scissors. They cut cleanly and the points can get in really close. The only reason I gave them a 4 was they are always open as depicted in the picture, and with the blades as sharp as they are, I feel they constitute a hazard. They came packaged with a pieces of card stock folded over the tips. If the company offered something similar for permanent protection they would rate a 5+.

I bought these for jewelry making. I bought them on the advice of a blogger I follow for use cutting Fireline, which I have become a fan of for beadweaving applications. The Fireline is a strong, fused thread (also used as fishing line). But cutting it can damage regular scissors. I have one nice pair of scissors I was using to cut only thread (for beading and cross stitch) and I started to notice the Fireline causing a little damage or loss of sharpness to my old scissors, so I bought these. These are just perfect for my needs. They are easy to grip. Since I am only snipping bits of thread, and don't need to cut long pieces of paper or fabric, I don't mind that the handles are more like pliers than like scissors. I feel that with this tip, I can get in close between beads when ending my thread, so I don't have loose threads hanging out everywhere. This lends a more professional appearance to my projects. Also, these have been great so far for cutting Fireline. (I am using 4 lb test strength, for the record.) I mean, I haven't been using them for a long time (just a few weeks, I think), but so far, they have not been damaged by cutting the Fireline. I don't think I would use them on memory wire (and possibly not on other wire, since I do have several pairs of wire cutters) but I am pretty happy with these scissors for pretty much any kind of beading thread.

It is so good that after the first one was damaged when it was used on metal fence wire by accident, we just had to get another one. Trimming kevlar paracord to length? Get these shears. Life is much easier with them, for when they are not available on the work bench, you will definitely miss them!

I purchased this for one main purpose and that was to cut 550 paracord easily and cleanly with no little annoying frays showing or inner cords hanging past the cut. It is able to perform that task perfectly, smoothly, and effortlessly time after time after time. I use this cutter whenever I am working with paracord and I don't use anything else now that I have it. No more pulling a knife and scaring whomever is around (some people are sensitive that way) and no more scissors. This is sort of a specialty tool but since I use mine a lot it's worth the price in time savings alone. Are there other uses for this cutter? You bet, but so far, I haven't cut anything except paracord so I would n't be speaking from experience. PS ON other paracord sites where this tool is sold--- let's just say you needn't bother buying there because you've already found the best price.

Xuron makes quality tools for cutting. I needed a cutter for removing photoetch parts from the sprue. This tool provides the best way to do this.

Can’t attest to their ability to cut Kevlar, but these are great heavy duty cutters for jewellery making, such as wirework, cutting thin metal sheet etc.
