Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster Electric Guitar, 3-Color Sunburst

I've wanted a Jazzmaster for years but I could never afford one and I refused to do financing as I don't want to incur debt. Even the old Jazzmaster Vintage Modified's were still too expensive during the season of life I was in, but recently I was able to save up the cash to go guitar shopping again.I play electric guitar in my church worship team. I don't need anything to crazy, as long as the playability, tone and there. Recently, I walked into a guitar store and saw the Sonic Blue Jazzmaster Classic VIbe and I was immediately drawn to its striking appearance. When I picked it up the weight was just right. Not too heavy or light. The C-Shape neck is super comfortable and smooth and the Indian Laurel Fingerboard feels nice. The overall build quality feels inline to what you'd see in a Fender line Jazzmaster. If you pull up the specs on Fender.com on both the Squier JM and Fender JM you'll see a ton of similar parts (and possibly some better specs).The tone is fantastic and you can really get a tone of range out of the Duncan designed pickups and various selectors and circuits. If you're a guitarist on a low budget or you're looking for your first guitar, this is a fantastic option for the money. Some people won't be willing to wear the Squier logo on the headstock, but honestly, they did a great job making it look appealing on the headstock design. Also when you play it that won't matter so much!Here are some final thoughts:-Beware of ordering online. You'll want to purchase a cleaning kit like the Duncan 65 guitar maintenance kit. My guitar came in with dull frets and a dry fingerboard. This most likely due to it sitting in a warehouse and in a box for so long without proper care. The kit will also give you solutions to polish and wax your new baby.-Beware of buying cases. Not all guitar cases will fit a Jazzmaster style body as it has a unique offset shape and length. I ordered a case but it didn't fit so when searching make sure the item clearly states "Fits Jazzmaster Style Guitars"-Depending on the seller, the guitar strings may be on the guitar during shipping. My guitar was shipped with strings on but my high e string popped out in the box. That was disappointing, so maybe order a set of fresh strings to change once it arrives. I recommend .10 gauge Ernie Ball Slinky Electric Guitar Strings. The Squier comes equipped with .09's by default.-The bridge is a major topic when discussing Jazzmasters, but the mustang style bridge works perfectly for the type of music I play which is mainly Worship Music. A lot of JM players will go for the Mastery Bridge which costs around $200, but try out the Mustang bridge before you throw your money into modding the guitar.

I had an American-made Jazzmaster in 1965, and have owned more than 25 guitars over the years. The Jazzmaster has a unique "surf guitar" sound with both pickups on and I missed it! This Squier version has it in spades. The quality of this Indonesian-made guitar was top-notch- finish, plating, intonation, neck pocket fit- basically everything about the guitar. I suspect that computer-controlled NC machines these days are even more accurate than the ones used in the 60's. I changed the strings from the factory-installed .009-.042 to a set of .010-.046, gave the truss rod 1/4 turn anticlockwise, verified the resulting neck relief, gave the neck a coat of F-One oil since it was pretty dry, and gave the strings and back of the neck a shot of Tone Finger-Ease. Vive la difference! (These products are available on Amazon and I highly recommend them both). I couldn't be happier- especially since there was a $100 off sale when I purchased my Jazzmaster! Thanks, Fender, my Telecaster now has a cousin to play with!

For the money, this Jazzmaster can not be beat. Make sure you change the strings right away. I own American Fenders too, yes they are more refined but I’m blown away by how good this is. Frets are a little rough with bends but not bad at all … it smooths out over time or you can take it to a shop if you want. It holds tune as good as my American Tele. Pickups sound great through my tube Vox. I love this thing.

Guitar arrived no damage and everything worked as you would expect. Nice looking guitar with a decent sound and intonation was right on. I felt that the tuners worked well and the neck felt fine. Did have one issued one fret was a bit high around the seventh fret high E string, I raised the bridge slightly to overcome the issue. I ended up putting a stainless steel fretted neck on which is what I do with all my guitars and gave the neck to a friend who wanted a neck with a smaller nut.. I can't say I'm a big fan of the pickups sound but it works for me in some cases. Anyway I've found that Squier does give you a good value overall. You can purchased cheaper elsewhere but I really like the fact when I order from Amazon I get it the next day,

This is a first impression from a humbucker lover. The lead circuit in the middle position is very bassy and warm on a clean channel. Switch to the bridge with some overdrive and it screams with the tone on 10. I like it so far. I sold my strat and tele. Never could get the tone that suits me from them.

I’ve had this guitar for a while, longer than I should’ve. but I kept it for too long to return it unfortunately, But what I can say is that DO NOT BUY THIS. My item was defective, and I don’t doubt that it won’t happen to you. For a few months I was playing, it sounded pretty darn good and I was having fun. but then crap hit the fan, the wiring started acting up, it would straight up not work and the bridge kept going down! I had to stick popsicle sticks in the dang bridge to get it to be playable at all, it’s in the photos. It’s just a useless piece of wood and plastic in my room at this point. DO NOT BUY THIS

Ive had this guitar for about 6 months. It feels amazing to play and has a great feel to it. Still relatively new to guitars i feel this is more than enough that i need to play, learn and look cool holding. Aside from a dent on the side of it from shipping (be careful order instruments from amazon) as with delivery theres always a possibility of damage. Wonderful guitar.

It is very important that you understand that even though it is showing the mint green color you will not receive that. Every photo in the description is that mint green color except for one which is a light blue. The light blue one is the one that is shipped. I know that it says blue in the description but you never know if it's the wording you should go by or the pictures you should go by. They need to change the pictures to match the description so that the purchaser knows which guitar they're getting. To save trouble and getting a different one I went on ahead and ordered the vintage white colored one and it came yesterday and looks awesome and plays very good. Overall this guitar is good I'm just not happy that I did not get the green one but I took a chance in ordering it the way that they have it described.

Paint job is scratched away on the backside. The neck was not connected when it arrived. And the tremolo bar is missing.

Snagged this off the Warehouse, I don't mind dings. It arrived with the neck basically flopping around because the screw holes were stripped. Some toothpicks and glue fixed that. After a bit of intonation fiddling, this is a just fine guitar. Perhaps sacrilege, but it distorts wonderfully.

Great guitar for the money. Neck feels good, frets are finished well. Very playable out of the box. A bit of lemon oil on the fretboard and a quick setup and I'm happy.I also have a Fender American Professional Jazzmaster. Cost 4x as much as this one. While yes there is a difference, the Squier does not feel like a budget version.Definitely would recommend the Classic Vibe Jazzmaster.
