Awesome, clean, factory looking setup with punchy bass!
I’m extremely happy with this little setup. It fits perfectly behind the third-row seat in my 2015 Yukon Denali with the seat upright, so I can keep all three rows usable without giving up much cargo space. For the signal, I tapped into the factory Bose subwoofer output at the factory amplifier rather than using one of the door-speaker outputs. I ran that signal into an AudioControl LC2i line output converter and then connected the LC2i to the Rockford using RCA cables. I would recommend upgrading to the LC2i Pro. The external adjustment knobs make tuning much easier, especially the AccuBASS threshold control. AccuBASS is designed to restore bass that some factory systems reduce as the volume increases, but my Bose system already sends a very strong subwoofer signal at lower volumes. Because of that, enabling AccuBASS produced more bass than I needed. It took me a while to properly calibrate everything so the bass stayed clean instead of becoming muddy. I ended up disabling AccuBASS, setting the bass adjustment on the factory navigation unit to zero, and installing the AudioControl remote bass knob. I initially used the remote knob included with the Rockford, but I preferred the control I got from the AudioControl knob. I then adjusted the LC2i output gains to provide the strongest clean signal possible without clipping or distortion. With the incoming signal properly set, I only needed to turn the Rockford’s internal gain to about one-quarter. The Rockford also has an automatic signal-sensing turn-on feature, so it powers up when music begins playing without requiring a separate remote wire. One minor issue is that I occasionally hear an inconsistent noise or brief turn-off transient from the subwoofer shortly after shutting off the vehicle. It appears to happen while the amplifier is waiting for the factory audio signal to disappear before powering down. It has not affected normal operation, but it is worth mentioning. I rarely need to run this thing past approximately 30% because it gets extremely loud inside an SUV. It obviously will not move air like two 12-inch subwoofers in a massive ported enclosure, but the bass is very clean, it gets surprisingly low, and you can definitely feel it. I highly recommend this setup for anyone looking for strong, clean bass without permanently sacrificing their third row or cargo area. The quick-disconnect power plug is one of its best features and makes it very easy to remove the entire unit when traveling or when extra cargo space is needed. Installation was straightforward, tuning took a little patience, and I’m very happy with the finished system. One final note: I originally ordered this through Amazon, but it never arrived. Amazon eventually issued a refund after the expected delivery date passed, and I purchased it from a local car-audio shop for the same price.

Great unit, priced right, easy install
Really happy with this unit. Install was pretty easy for a newbie in my son's 2019 Kia Optima, sound is amazing. Once we got the settings dialed in, it has some real punch. Cabinet quality is solid, looks all quality. Highly recommend!

Fantastic sub for stock audio systems
This sub packs a punch. It adds great depth and bass for your casual listening. And don’t worry about bothering the neighbors, you can turn the subs volume down with the bass knob, but the bass is also contained within the vehicle. The car will shake and rattle but there’s other ways to fix that. Over all I LOVE this sub. Great for the price as well

Great speaker.
Hits really hard for a single 12.

Hits pretty hard, with a few notes.... Puns!
This is a good all-in-one (except for a wiring kit) solution. Came well packaged with no damage. I had mine installed by a pro to keep things as clean as possible. They tapped into the stock sub line which kept things ultra simple and fast. I'll say it hits 3x harder than the stock 8" sub in my '22 Sonata, which includes the Bose premium sound. The sound from the stock Bose system is actually pretty good, but the 8" sub just can't keep up if you don't like super basic levels of bass. This is a drastic difference, but you're not going to be rattling your car apart or annoying your neighbors. It's actually tuned well to keep most of the sound amplified in the car. Playing some rap in the car, I was sure you'd be hearing it loud outside, but outside it's just barely audible. This is a good fit for people who want some punchy kick in their car without sounding like dual 12 neighborhood bangers of your teenage years. The ported enclosure can't quite keep up with accuracy in really fast metal songs, but I wasn't expecting that. I'll note that after the first time of driving this sub, the trunk smelled pretty gross. Not sure if I was driving it too hard or not, but the levels weren't unreasonable. Thinking it's just the amp and glue heating up which I'm hoping goes away with time. All this to say, run it at lower/medium levels for a few days before cranking it up to allow proper break in. Hopefully there's no damage but I hear good thing about RF's warranty claims if it comes to it - and it'll be a super simple swap now that everything is run.. in the worst case.

Punch 👊 three decades removed
This is worthy of the punch name. Takes me back to my old bronco with a ridiculous bandpass wasting gas all the summers of my youth. Easy install in the civic hatch fits like a glove. 8 GA is plenty for this, but I'm having trouble believing it. I've watched for my lights to dim but no issues. My rear view mirror is loosened and pointing down in less than a week. I have sound deadening everywhere and a fancy line out converter, which definitely help with modern signal problems. If you get a good signal to this box you won't be disappointed. Like other reviewers, I have my gain set at 0, xover at 55 hz, and never more than 50% bass boost. Class d really makes a difference over my old AB stuff, civic has tiny battery and alternator but can run this and more. I installed everything myself in an afternoon and have had no issues. I hooked it up the old school way, remote wire off the accessory fuse. I use remote wire for everything. Cant speak to any of the auto turn on features. My wife has come to get me late out of the garage three times this week. I just can't stop listening. So happy we still have Rockford. Fanatic for life. Now on to components and an ear destroying amp.

Easy Install, Plenty of Bass for the Money
I installed this myself in my 2018 Camry XSE. I’m not an expert by any means but if you have any car audio knowledge, it’s a fairly easy install. I purchased a Rockford Fosgate 8 gauge amp kit (way better quality than the Boss garbage I had in my 07 Camry SE) and the Toyota Camry Add A Subwoofer Harness from Taco Tunes so I didn’t have to splice into any wires from the factory radio. Hardest part of the install was finding a ground to use. I ended up using one of the bolts that held the back seat to the actual car. You also don’t need a line out converter to connect it to the factory radio because the amp accepts high level input, and it doesn’t need a remote wire because it can automatically turn on when it detects audio from the RCAs. I also love the quick disconnects for if I need to take the enclosure out for more trunk space. I’m not an audiophile at all but I wanted to add some more bass to the stock sound system. I listen primarily to hip hop/rap and for one 12” it hits pretty hard. With the bass knob turned halfway up, it vibrates the entire car and from the outside you can hear the trunk rattling. Coming from two 12”s in my previous Camry which was a little too much for me, I think this is the perfect amount of bass added.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!!
