Well worth the investment!
Bottom line- If you're driving down the road pushing 500 RMS watts without a capacitor on your system, you are running the risk of damaging your battery, and/or alternator, not to mention the damage to other on-board and computer components within your vehicle. After installing one of these on a simple Alpine 500W RMS amp driving a single 12' Alpine sub, I noticed an immediate improvement in not only the sound, but I also noticed that my headlights, tail lights, and dash lights no longer dimmed every time a bass note hit hard at lower engine rpm.I recommend to every one and anyone who'll listen, that it just makes good sense to have one of the installed. Installation is relatively simple and fast, and it pays off in the long run by saving money on replacing some very expensive components in your vehicle.

Amazing quality capacitor
This 2 farad cap is probably the most awesome cap I've ever bought it was easy to install and the digital display is very clean and crisp and it does have a blue flashing light when you get the amplifier pounding. I have no static no problems the thing works great I would suggest it for who's ever installing an amp up to 2000 Watts

Must charge it correctly using included resistor!!
Now that I drained it and recharged it correctly this time, everything is working fine again. Original problem seems to be the "pro" installers never properly charged the cap using the little included resistor. Also, I'm pissed there's nowhere that describes what their errors mean or troubleshooting them.Previous Review:I can't find anywhere that explains what the different LED readouts mean! I emailed Planet Audio but no response. For 2 weeks it went blank, then it came back on but would beep every time I turned on my vehicle, then a month later it began acting normal for about a month, then it began to show an "e y" I believe it was.. now that went away and all it shows is an "e" (for error I assume) and the Blue LED light remains on.Previous Review:Used to beep every time I started my car, and it's blue LED bulb used to flash every time I turned up the music/bass really high. I'm unsure why both of those things stopped working AS WELL AS the digital voltage readout quit working. =/ (Side note: Don't forget to connect the remote wire like my "pro" installers had forgotten the first time around!!)

Bought to Replace Same Model
The one that was in my car that I bought used started beeping and had a high pitch buzz. I don't know much about car audio, but swapping it out for a new one of the same model did the trick! Happy with the quality of the product.

Works great
I have this hooked up to a 1200 watt rms amp and it does what its supposed to do. I wouldn't go any higher than 1200 watts rms with this capacitor though, you would need a higher farad with this brand but.... it's definitely worth the money. Cheap price to pay to keep your alternator longer.

A must have for clean, powerful install
I used this cap in between my 1000w amp and car battery in a newer model Cadillac. If you know Cadillacs you know there power systems are sensitive to add-ons and the stock power system is usually just enough for what is already on board. I am pushing 1 15" woofer, with a 1000w amp, and I get no dimming.

Waste of time. Cheap junk that doesn’t work at all.
The media could not be loaded. I wish I could give this product 0 stars. Received my first capacitor. The charging directions didn’t work, but I work with electronics so I charged it properly anyway using a test lamp. It held no capacitance and would dip below 12 volts on bass hits powering a relatively small 500 watt amp. I contacted the company Feb 11th for an RMA. Didn’t receive a replacement until March 2nd (in fact they didn’t even mail my replacement until Feb 24th when I contact them again asking where it was). The second capacitor wouldn’t charge past 10 volts so I didn’t even hook it to the main power out of fear it could blow. Ended up returning the original to Amazon for a refund and having to go out of my way to recycle the replacement. Ultimately it was a waste of time and I ended up using an old Scosche 500k capacitor while I shop for a reliable 2f cap. Fwiw the 10 year old 500k Scosche has more capacitance than either of these “2 farad” caps and charged properly the first attempt. Save yourself some time and frustration and buy something else. The service is sub par and the product is even worse than their service.

Typical planet audio.
Worked awesome for about 2 months. When I first installed it when I turned the truck on the voltage meter read 15.0 volts in my new gmc. With the amp and subs full power it never dropped below 14.3 volts. I was amazed at how much louder my system was. 2 months later it's back like I don't it installed. It will drop down to 12.5 volts again. I'm pretty sure it's dead. But it gave me two months of smiles
