Carolina Gold Rice is wonderful
So excited to find Caroline Gold Rice. The unique taste is wonderful.

Great taste
I am not a white rice eater. But I saw this on a cooking show and thought I'd order it. It was more expensive but a little goes a long way. I keep the rest in the freezer. It has a great taste not like regular white rice. And so every so often, even though I'm diabetic, I make some of this for myself. And for me to like this white rice that's saying something!

I WAS DOUBTFUL THERE WOULD BE A DIFFERENCE BUT I WAS WRONG. THIS RICE IS MUCH BETTER THAN STORE BOUGHT.

Delicious!
After reading an article and recipe in The Washington Post, I ordered this to make Hoppin' John. I am so glad I did because the dish was delicious! Since it was a new recipe (to me), I obviously do not know how it would taste with another rice but I plan to purchase again. A relative from NC also swears by this rice. It is pricey but if you go to the website of the mills, the shipping to so costly that this is in line with what you would pay from the source.

Nutty tasting, good experiment!
I had read up on Gullah cooking and came across this rice. Out of curiosity I bought it, stored it in the freezer as suggested, then cooked it up the first opportunity rice became a component of our dinner. It cooked up easily and was tasty. I would say that I overcooked it a bit so it didn't fluff up. But it is tasty. The next morning I cooked it up with eggs, again tasty. I need to make it one more time before I decide to buy it again ... it was a bit expensive.

Rice Worth the Price!
This is seriously superior rice grown in South Carolina. I treat myself to this rice, especially when making a recipe in which rice is the star!
