Gave this set to my daughter for her birthday. She loved them and now I want a set for myself. Very high quality, clean easily, and nine months later still looks like brand new.

Admittedly, our household has been using Calphalon for as long as I can remember and they have been pretty good however we have always used non-stick. Our last Contemporary set was admittedly beyond its live expectancy so we were on a hunt. We decided to stop using the non-stick pots and pans and go stainless. I am sure we were like many people trying to figure out quality materials. Well that lead me to All Clad and I went to check them out (D3 set) and the handles are terrible, no other way to explain it. They have another set that improved it but they are sparse. We decided to look at Calpahlon and I was a little concerned as the options were not as complete as what we have seen in the past or with the competitor. Well, we decided to go all in on the Premier set and then went off and bought some other pieces to complete what we needed.Overall, I am impressed with the heat distribution but it has taken a little more time to figure them out than using non-stick which was to be expected and of no fault from the product. Overall it seems like a quality product and I would not hesitate to continue adding to the collection (still looking for a 4.5qt pot).With that said, they do not come fault free... Those are the lids, they are just not good. I love the glass lid which was actually a selling point over a couple others however the handles get excessively hot. I still have the lids from our older Contemporary set and I find I am pulling the out despite not being a perfect fit just because I don't want to burn my hand. I don't understand how the design team could go so far backwards in this department, it would seem like a bare minimum threshold for a remotely quality pot / pan. That team should be relegated to nylon spoon or cupcake pan design only.My other complaint is the strainer insert no longer goes to the bottom of the 8qt pot. If you want to make pasta, you really have to break it up. I never had this issue before which is a minor annoyance but again, why change a rather good design.These are just me being super critical as part of a review. Can live with these issues so I would buy again.Also, they have seasoned a bit with about two months of use and just a blue, non-scratch pad has taken everything off the pans that may get stuck with no hard scrubbing needed. I have also seen no warping for any pan although I am not using the super high output burner on flame thrower mode or dropping into cold water while still hot so general care and common sense are needed.

Great heat distribution. Easy to clean and care for. When properly heated and using the right oil/fat, pretty much, nom-stick!

I was nervous switching to stainless because of all the warnings that you have to learn to cook differently. It doesn't take long to switch (you use less heat), it cooks so much better, clean up is a snap, and no toxic chemicals.

I finally bought a set of CALPHALON cookware, because of their so called reputation. I paid over $400 because I wanted to treat myself to a new set of pots and pans. I haven't had them too long to rate them on anything other than they are NOT EASY TO CLEAN. After using the first pan, I gave it ample time to cool down and left in water to soak for 30 min. I used a non scratch sponge and let air dry. When I went to put it away, it had some cloud like looking blotches. This time I soaked in hot water for another 30 minutes and added dishwashing liquid. I used the non scratch sponge again and towel dried. It was less blotchy, but blotchy nonetheless. I couldn't stop there, because all I thought of was the price tag and that the pan should look better than that, after one use. I soaked for a third time, this time using a Brillo pad. The blotchiness was less, but a new pan should still not look like that. I wish I didn't buy this CALPHALON brand. Had I gone with something priced 2/3 or 3/4 less, I wouldn't be so upset. Easy clean up should be pretty essential for this price!!!
