Spa Sciences ECHO – Sonic Makeup Brush

I originally bought this because years ago I owned the Michael Todd Sonicblend Pro and really liked the concept, but eventually the brush head started flying off and the replacement heads became very expensive. As far as I can tell that model is no longer even available, so I decided to try this instead. I have actually been very pleasantly surprised by it. The first thing I noticed is that the weight feels nice in the hand. It doesn’t feel flimsy or toy-like. I use it daily on the highest speed setting to apply BB cream and vitamin C products, and it spreads everything much more evenly than I can with just my fingertips. It gives a smoother, more blended finish without leaving heavy spots of product in certain areas. The vibration is effective without feeling harsh or uncomfortable on my skin. It reminds me a lot of the higher-end Michael Todd version in actual use. Charging did take a while initially, but once charged, the battery life has been impressive. I use it regularly and do not feel like I am constantly needing to recharge it. Another major plus is that replacement brush heads are easy to find and inexpensive, which was one of my biggest frustrations with the more expensive alternative I used to own. In fact, this entire device cost about the same as a single replacement brush head for my old Michael Todd system. Overall, this has become part of my daily routine and I reach for it every morning. For me, it applies product more smoothly, more evenly, and more efficiently than using my hands alone.

Very disappointed! Really wanted to try this product but it’s not charging. I’ve left it plugged in for the recommended 24 hrs & it never turned green as the product booklet indicated. I even tried a different outlet.

I've bought 3 of these since 2020 and I can't say enough. They both still work except the brush heads pop of easily now. Not sure if it's the brush body or the heads themselves. They stay charged a long time and don't take too long to fully charge. Well worth the price.

I really love the way this device works to make your foundation look beautifully blended and smooth on your face. I have had some problem with recharging and Spa Science company is working with me to resolve.

I am a professional makeup artist. I have a million brushes in my kit. I also have an airbrush. I was intrigued by this idea that I could get an "airbrushed" look with a cheap makeup brush. I don't even have a regular brush in my kit that costs as little as this brush. I couldn't help myself, after seeing all the hype, I had to try it. I can now say, my pre-judgements were wrong. This brush actually does what it says it does. I tried it with a liquid foundation, setting a foundation with powder, a mineral foundation, a blush, a cream, and to blend heavy contour. In all cases it definitely created an airbrush like finish. I can say I felt they could have gotten away with a lower setting. Even the lowest setting is a bit intense in my opinion but it definitely gets the job done. I also wish they'd come out with a more slimline version using a sonic toothbrush as a model and create interchangeable brush heads that are smaller for cream shadow, concealer, and tighter contouring. I don't now how long this will last because the way the brush head is designed to pop on and off doesn't seem too secure but for the price, It's definitely worth the money. Not only did it speed up the makeup process, it requires MUCH less product. I HIGHLY recommend you start with the smallest amount of product and build because I did notice with using the normal amount of product it dispersed pigment so well that you could get a "heavy handed" look (although well blended) very easily. My first attempt with liquid foundation looked very much like the type of foundation coverage I would use for stage work although very airbrushed looking. My second attempt I used the tiniest bit of foundation and it looked like flawless natural skin. I'm impressed that this can save me money by using less product. I recommend buying more than one brush head but if you layer correctly you could at least use it for several products going from lightest to darkest without much problem since the product is vibrated off of the bristles pretty effectively. Overall, I definitely recommend this and if it breaks soon, i'll happily replace it. Worth every penny.

This brush is amazing! Complete and obvious difference in my makeup routine. I was a huge fan of the Sonicare makeup brush prior to it being discontinued and was bummed when they stopped making it. However, this is an upgrade. It is very user friendly, and it makes your foundation flawless. It literally looks like my face was airbrushed, absolutely gorgeous. I get tons of compliments on my face makeup every time I use it. I find it also reduces the amount of time it takes to apply your foundation, and if you are a contour person like me, YOU DEFINITELY NEED THIS. The only precaution to consider prior to buying this, is that one needs to make sure to clean the brush thoroughly after using it every time. If you don't, it can get pretty gross and also lead to break-outs. I use a generic make up brush cleanser and sometimes even baby shampoo to clean the brush itself once I am finished. I would also suggest buying the extra heads so you can switch them off between uses and also have extras for cream blush, bronzer, and concealer if you are contouring. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this product.

Did not work for more then 10 seconds each time I tried it. Was Fully charged also. Bought in feb- however, I hardly wear makeup as I am going blind. These types of brushes help me to get foundation correct with the visual issues. My last one lasted years- so this was very disappointing.

This was the second brush I bought. The first was from JCPenney when they were going out of business, so when it wouldn’t hold a charge after one use I was SOL. But when it worked, I really liked it so I gave the company another shot through Amazon. I followed the instructions word for word, but it never held to charge longer than one use. I would have to charge it every day to work for about 30 seconds. And now after a couple months of that routine, it just stopped charging. I wish they would figure out how to make a product that was consistent. Really bummed and it’s too late to return it. So, unless they were able send me another one, I guess I’ll have to move on and try to find another company that sells them.

I had never used an electric makeup brush before but having used this one, I will not go back. Gives a flawless finish!

Unfortunately, I was not able to get it working. It didn't hold a charge. Such a shame, I was really excited to use it.
