Good product

I purchased this light fixture simply to be able to compare various LED's that will fit my camper. (My camper is at a summer lake spot that is 400 miles away) I want to replace all the bulbs with a good LED, but the range of quality and performance available annoys me so much that I have to try them before I buy a big bag of them only to be disappointed.Anyway, I crimped some flat blade connectors on the leads coming out of the fixture and connected them to a cordless tool battery. I then install various bulbs in either side so that I can compare the brightness, color, and quality of light coming from the different LED's. After receiving this fixture, I immediately noticed it's superior quality when comparing it to stock camper fixtures. It is basically the same fixture, but the lens covers fit nicer and the sockets appear to be better constructed. I have removed the covers and installed different lights at least 20 times while trying to compare LED's and it seems to be holding up just fine. I included my comparison pictures of the LED's and the stock 921 bulb.

Arrived quickly

I wanted a light fixture either without bulbs or with cheap bulbs. I'm too ocd to let someone else choose my light. Ideally I would have found a smaller version of this as 194 / 921 bulbs are compact. Alas, this was all I could find. I give it 4 stars because the size is purely opinion.

Unlike the existing coach lights you can not select just one side to illuminate. Always both lights.I performed a slight modification which cost me about $3, US, to be able to illuminate one or both lights. A simple single pole double throw switch with a schotky diode across the switch output terminals.I also replaced the incandescent bulbs with flat led bulbs(?).

This was an easy choice to replace the dome light in an old Ford Ranger. The trim had been demolished and the cost of the unit would have run well over 100 dollars. This unit was simple enough to wire up.Not the fault of the product, but I had some difficulty mounting it to the ceiling. There are 4 holes and no screws for mounting so I used drywall screws and had to find a surface to mount to. The headliner was less than adequate. I went with one to the metal frame on the roof and one in the headliner to stabilize the unit.Also, for many cars, the ground is the frame of the vehicle. So I had use a screw to attach one of the wires to the sheet metal frame of the vehicle. I had the job done in less than 15 minutes and I'm very happy to have a dome light again.Also, it is not ugly for this application. I was worried it might stick out when you open the car. Unless you're really picky, it will just blend in.
