Used it on my most recent tattoo and it worked great! I spread it on thick and covered my arm in cling wrap for an hour before my appointment. It didn't numb me completely, but it took away at least 70% of the pain, and it seemed to last for about 3 hours. Definitely worth it for a 4 hour tattoo!

This product worked great! The trick is to wrap the prep area in plastic wrap appropriately 1 hour prior to your appointment. You will stay numb the entire time...at least I did. Great product!!

I am a dude with a hairy back and I finally had enough with trying to shave it every time I wanted to go to the beach. I found a place that does laser hair removal and went in for session #1..... IT HURT! I mean I even had them reduce the intensity 2 levels below what they recommended and it still HURT! I was about to cancel my follow up appointment but heard DR. Numb has helped people. So I decided to give it a chance. An hour before my appointment I had a friend rub a layer into my back (like sun screen) then I had him cake on a layer. I followed up by wrapping myself up in saran wrap (supposedly the heat would help activate the active ingredient) I left it on for an hour. When I took it off I could feel a numb sensation. Here is the IMPORTANT PART: If you use this for laser hair, you NEED to wash this off before going into the appointment. If you don't the pain will be more than you would ever think possible. It would do the opposite of the intent. I guess the laser is affected by the cream and will burn the skin really bad. The laser was set to the max strength for my skin and I could barely feel it! It was night and day. I couldn't recommend this enough if you have had trouble with laser hair like I did. (I also took 3 Tylenol 30 min before the treatment.... I wasn't about to take any chances after my first experience) The numbness lasted about 3.5 hours. It is now 5 hours after applying and it is about 90% back to normal feeling.

This is the biggest tattoo I’ve gotten so far. First session was just the outline and it hurt like hell. I realized there was no way I could sit through the rest of the sessions without some help. Short of going in drunk in an attempt to numb the pain, I bought a bottle of Dr. Numb. I had low expectations from the mixed reviews I read and my heart sank when I got the bottle and it was rather small. Keeping the expectations low, I applied a THICK layer of this stuff to the area I knew would hurt the most, the inner elbow and surround area. I shaved, applied cream, and then wrapped in Saran Wrap tightly for one hour. I read somewhere that I was supposed to lightly tap the covered area every 10 minutes to help with absorption, so I did. I was not taking any chances. I removed the wrap and then let it sit without wiping it off for an additional 20 minutes. Finally came the time to see if it worked. My artist started to tattoo my inner elbow and I almost passed out from how HAPPY I was. I felt NOTHING. No pain. If it weren’t for the sound of the electric needle buzzing next to my head, I would have fallen asleep. This stuff is straight magic. I am purchasing several more bottles (remember, the tube is small and you do have to apply a lot) for the next few sessions I have to finish my sleeve. Absolutely recommend.

So I purchased this product because of the large amount of reviews that gave it 5 stars. I am perplexed as to how this product was rated more than 1 star by anyone. It DOES NOT WORK WELL. I purchased the product to assist in making getting my first tattoo close to pain free. For my first tat, it’s a large one. Despite putting the product on and using the saran wrap and waiting 50 minutes, then also reapplying it a second time for 40 minutes to ensure that it would take. When the artist began the tattoo, I felt the pressure of the needle and the vibrations but not much pain. But I thought that must be normal so I didn’t think anything of it. However, after about 20 minutes, the product wore off and I began to feel the needle and the puncturing of my skin. The pain level was about a 6 out of 10 for most of the tattoo. It was about 7 for the part of the tattoo that extends to the middle of my back. So, the pain was mostly moderate. However, this product is supposed to numb you for 4 hours according to the box. Complete lie. It somewhat numbs (not fully) you for about 20-25 minutes and then you are going to feel the needle. Overall, the product’s performance was substandard. A better numbing cream is tattoo Numbing cream co and it’s cheaper in price. Dr. Numb failed to provide the protection against pain that it was supposed to.

The packaging is great, and it seems like this is the only one in the market with a 4.5-star rating, so I decided to give it a try even though it's much pricier. Honestly, the results are just okay. I don't really notice much difference compared to other brands with lidocaine as the main ingredient. I think the ratio of lidocaine is probably the same across the board, so I’d give it 4 stars. But considering the higher price, I’d rate it 3 stars instead. Thanks!

Although on the expensive side it works better than other brands I’ve tried. I’d rather pay more than feel pain tbh😂

20-30% pain relief for a tattoo job. Lower leg area including the back

Had my tattoo and applied it as per instruction and as per reviews but just reduced like 10-20% and after like 1 hour, no effect anymore.
