HerStyler Forever Straightening Flat Iron - Travel Friendly - 1.25 Inch

Better than the “Chi” flat iron. Mine lasted me about 8/9 years. I’ve dropped mine so many times over the years and it still worked for so many years. I’m buying another one because I dropped mine yesterday and it finally broke LOL. I’m sad because now I have to go 7 days without my flat iron (shipping). In high school, the flat iron our cheer coach told us to use was the Chi and we all loved it. When “Herstyler” came out at the mall kiosks, my boyfriend at the time bought me the pink set (flat iron/style wand and the one that looked like anal beads) I never put it in my butt. Anyway when I used it (flat iron) dude it was 100x better than the “chi.” I gave my Chi flat iron away and have stuck with this well into my 30’s. It’s wayyyyyy cheaper than the Chi, lasts a verrrrrry long time, heats up in maybe only a minute and I haven’t had a bad hair day in years. I have curly hair (black/Asian mixed hair) and this works great for me. My mom loves it too and my sister in law loves it. I wasn’t paid for this review (I wish.) I’ve had the black and pink one. The pink one is pretty but over the years, the pink fades from the heat from the hot plates and starts looking ugly. Still works great but ugly af. I like the black one because over time, it still looks new, clean and not burned. I haven’t ordered from this Amazon seller but hopefully my new Herstyler flat iron is still as wonderful as my last one:)

My teenage daughter decided to throw my 18 year old herstyler flat iron in anger, and broke the plates. I was devastated. That flat iron never lost its heat. But I was so excited to see that they still make the classic design here on Amazon! And for 1/4 of the price I paid so many years ago. It can straighten, and curl if you know how to use it that way, and the controls are simple the way I like it. A small dial for the heat, and an on/off switch. Both are out of the way so you don’t accidentally turn it off or change the temp. I use it almost at the highest heat setting and it’s ready to go within 1-2 minutes. So if you are looking for a reliable, fast heating, easy to use flat iron, I can’t recommend this one enough! Who knows how long mine would have lasted past these last 18 years if my child hadn’t broken it!

So, I was walking in the mall one day a few years ago, and got stopped by a nice man who wanted to style my hair. I had some free time, so I allowed him to. He used this exact product, Herstyler Classic Forever Ceramic Flat Iron. I had never used anything on my hair, other than a curling iron once and a while. I am not a fan of curling irons or flat irons because the right look has always been hard for me to achieve. I can never make all the hair appear like a professional styled it or that natural effortless look. Plus I did not want to take a chance and damage my hair. So I was a skeptic. After a few curls he created, I was hooked! I did not want to buy this product at the mall because it was retailing for $200 at that time. I found it on Amazon for about $40 at the time. I bought it and have been using it ever since. It is easy to hold, does not get heavy. Has easy temperature adjustment. I did drop it a few times and a small corner piece of the ceramic broke off. I still use it and it works great. Also, I was putting Moroccan oil in my hair then using the Herstyler. I noticed that combination was damaging my hair and staining the ceramic plate. It gave the plate a rusty burnt color. I stopped using the oil and my hair has been damage free since. Keeping the iron on a medium temperature setting also helps prevent damage. The higher the temperature the faster your hair sets, but could cause damage. Do not redo a piece of hair several times. One time should be enough on the piece of hair you are styling. You can touch it up briefly a second time, but I do not recommend more than that. I only use the Herstyler to create waves and curls, not to straighten my hair. I do not know how it would work to straighten. I finally recently broke down and bought a new one. It was even cheaper this time around on Amazon! It's light enough and small enough to travel with. I still have my old one as a back up and travel one. I do not know how other Flat Irons rate, but this one is great so I do not feel the need to look for a different one.

I got this back in Jan 2011 when my roommate paid $200 for a set from the mall, and I couldn't be happier. My old one was dying, and I desperately needed a replacement for the little frizzies/curlicues that pop up just near my forehead and make me look like a bag lady. It came with a thin (but cushioned) travel case. It heats up pretty quickly, and once I use it I don't have to use it again until I wash my hair, which can be anywhere from 3-5 days later. When I use it to straighten all of my hair (I have fairly long, thick in density but moderate thickness in hair shaft size), I can do it in about half an hour, which is actually quicker than with other straighteners I've had because I need to go over it fewer times. However, I gave it a four because when I do all of my hair, it doesn't always stay as straight as it initially is until I wash my hair (again, 3-5 days later). However, it does not get wavy enough again to necessitate re-straightening, and it has worked better than straighteners I've had in the past. All in all, this is a GREAT item for the money, although there are better straighteners out there--for over $100 a pop.

I have used several different straighteners some the most affordable to the more pricier ones. When I originally purchased my HerStyler at the mall for a whopping $200.00 I was a little upset that I had spent so much for a straightener but from the first time I used it I was sold! No other straighter could compete with it in my book. I was super sad when my straightener broke after 5+ years of putting this baby to work. I knew I wanted the same straightener but I wasn't sure I wanted to dish out that kind of cash for it again. This lead me to search elsewhere for it and alas Amazon.com came to my rescue! I found the sellers California Distributors had the same brand and style flat iron for a STEAL OF A DEAL $25!! I purchased the flat iron on Monday September 15th and it stated I should receive it by the end of the week which was pretty fast if you ask me, I was super stoked! Early the next morning I was checking my emails to track my package and It stated that my flat iron had already been delivered. I thought to myself this must be a mistake I just submitted my order yesterday! I really believed I would never see those $25 or the flat iron again. As I open my front door much to my surprise there was my package waiting for me!! I was jumping for joy and ecstatic that I had received my flat iron in LESS THAN 24 HOURS! That's the quickest EVER that I have received anything that I ordered online. The flat iron works exactly like the $200 one i purchased 5+ years ago and the icing on the cake is that I got it for $25 (including taxes/shipping). I am so happy with this purchase and will definitely be recommending CALIFORNIAN DISTRIBUTIOR and this flat iron to my friends and family!. Thanks bunches! xoxo!

Fast, versatile, effective, affordable. What more could a woman want? I love that after years of curling irons making curls in my hair that only last 2 hours, is over! I no longer have to put chemicals (hair spray, mousse, etc) in my hair to have a curl last literally all day long (actually, up to my next washing), just as well for straightening. I get so many compliments on how shiny and soft my hair looks after using herstyler. I love having the natural feel of my own hair. I actually first bought Herstyler when it first came out at an insane price of $200. Even back then, IT WAS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD! Everyone that i have loaned it out to, ended up purchasing one for themselves. A woman that has thick crazy curly hair borrowed it, and upon returning, she swore she was going to marry it! You can use it to straighten but my favorite way is using it to make long loose curls for an elegant but very natural look. I even use this on my 9 yr old daughter's hair cuz i can control the temperature, which makes it safer, and i know that it wont damage her hair. Plus she likes that i don't have to use hair spray. It takes about a minute to heat up, or less. I can put all of my long hair, which is past my belt line, in soft loose curls in less than 15 minutes. How can a woman not love this product! Dont let those store brands fool you! They are just ceramic coated. For around the same price, you can get the real deal!!!

Decent for the price. I wish it would get hotter and the range of the opening were more flexible. But it gets the job done.

I have purchased some of the most expensive flat irons on the market and numerous other ones in between. There are none better than Herstyler! I purchased my first one over 10 years ago at a kiosk in a mall; I loved it then as I do now. The first one I purchased still works, but after daily use for over 10 years, it was time for a new one. I was thrilled to find out they're still being made. This flat iron honestly straightens hair beautifully, but it also (and I have no idea how) makes your hair healthier...not just look healthier, but repairs split ends. My hair is so coarse and brittle so I need a product that seriously works and this one does! You might ask why I've used so many others over the years (fair question, stupid answer), because I like trying new products. I will not be making that costly mistake ever again! Oh, and you'll love their serum too! It's fabulous, but I already wrote my review for that and it's not necessary to make the flat iron work so wonderfully. I won't mention what I paid the first time I bought this product, but I will tell you the price now is unbeatable for what you're getting and it will last! I also want you to know I'm not getting anything at all for writing this review; I just truly believe that when a product is so great it deserves recognition!

This is not the *best* straightener, but the quality for the price is very good and it does do a very good job at straightening your hair . The weight and quality of the item is good, and it gets very hot quicky. As some other reviews mentioned it does snag a *little* on hair at the edges, but not badly enough for me to dislike it. The plates are pure ceramic and not the coated metal kind that straighteners of similar price point use. The plates may not glide quite as smoothly through hair as my older more expensive straightener, but it straightens just as well. I would definitely recommend it because you won't find a straightener of this quality and with ceramic plates for the same price. Very very good value for the money. Thank you!!

Amazing product, feels like a really expensive brand, cause of the weight of the straightener. Heats up very fast. And shipping was also very fast.
