- 200PCS Solder Seal Wire Connectors, AWG 16-14 Blue Sleeves

I loved these connectors. They ate easy to use and make a very nice connection.A few things to note...1. When you cut the wires, leave enough room on one of them to slide the connector completely over the exposed wire. This is so you can physically twist or hook the two exposed ends together and prevent one side of being missed in the solder globular. Then slide the connector over the exposed wires and center the solder directly in the center.2. After applying the connector, don't tug, pull, or otherwise create tension or compression in the wires until its cooled. Failure to do so will cause the connector casing to tear, crimp, or have the wires penetrate the soft casing. Once cool, (15 seconds) the plastic hardens and the wire is safe to move.3. If you are making multiple connections in the se area, you will want to put something metal in between the one you are currently soldering and the ones you already did. In my case, I just place a pair of wire cutting pliers as metal backer for the one I was working on. If you don't, the heat will melt the other connectors and the wires can come loose or the connectors can stick to one another.4. Likewise, if you male a mistake or your connection broke/failed, you can remove the connector by heating it and pulling the wires apart. Then heat each of the ends and use a pair of pliers to scrape off the connector coating. Don't touch the area you heated because melting plastic and solder will stick to your skin and burn you! These make soldering connections so easy and flawless. They are a great addition and tool where permanent connectors are needed.

Works really good

Very easy to use. Quality is good and seems to last a long time, great to keep water away.

Easy to use. Better than other mechanical connectors

I am using these off-purpose - instead of connecting two wires I am using these to cleanly solder a wire to a pin-out on a circuit board in my stereo. My first 3 attempts went extremely well, and then the 4th presented me with issues - the solder was not sticking to the pin. I pulled the wire, tinned the pin with regular electrical solder, and then tried a new connector and it worked perfectly. (I am cutting one side of the connector to about 1/4 from the solder so that the pin is sticking into the solder area.) Now I know to tin each pin before adding the connector and wire. These things have been amazing so far - just ordered some other sizes. I am using the heat gun with a narrow tip at 300 degrees F, but may try 320 to make it easier and faster. Regular soldering I use a an iron at 405 degrees F, so the regular solder never melts when using the heat gun. This is great as it makes it safer to solder to the pin.The Red Connectors just barely fit my 18 gauge wire, and if the insulation is deformed at all it can be hard to get the connector over the wire. With 20 gauge wire there are no problems at all. Still, for my purpose I love the tight fit as it holds the wire in place while I heat the internal solder.

Love these, easy, seals well, burn resistant

This is a refill for me, I originally bought the multi sized pack. This is the size I use the most of. The solder melts into the copper and the tubing creats a water tight seal.

Excellent

Best invention ever

These are amazing.

good product

Using a heat gun with reflector nozzle worked really well with these. Within seconds, the solder began to flow and the sleeve shrunk down nicely with the adhesive gripping the insulation on the leads. Secure 20 AWG to 18 AWG nicely, as well. Once cooled, the bond is solid. While still hot you can still remove rather quickly should you accidentally make an incorrect join.

Easiest way to splice wires.Replaces a butt connector but provides a soldered and heat sealed connection with only a heat gun.
