Absolutely Brilliant!
I was skeptical but somewhat desperate when purchasing this product. Much to my amazement, amusement & delight, it WORKS! I have a love/hate relationship with the deer that come by on a regular basis. I like watching them and I don't mind at all if they're in the clearing just beyond the backyard (3+ acres of forest) but when Bucky comes through and mows down my hydrangeas & my beautiful David Austin Rose bush... well, that's where the "buck" stops & the love ends. I planted wildflowers away from the yard & gave them water this summer when we had blistering temps so it's not like I don't care. I know, I know, stop naming them, talking to them and attracting them to the area but they're always around anyway, it's not like I'm intentionally luring them by planting dessert like foilage... this certainly isn't an open "all you can eat" buffet style secret garden by any means. That said, Bucky, Thumbalina, Wilma & Pebbles DO NOT LIKE THE Garden Enforcer! I can't believe how well it works at detouring them from the backyard, I'm truly impressed. They've figured out the water/sprinkler boundaries and are staying out of the backyard and now keep themselves to the outer perimeter and I'm happy with that! Have I forgotten to shut it off or thought I was walking out of range and gotten blasted with the water myself? Hell yes! Does it make me laugh? yes! Is this a product that actually works, brings amusement and detours the deer from eating my roses, yes! Would I purchase again? Absolutely. Recommend to others? Definitely! Do I wish it worked on garden snakes as well? Yep, sure wish it did! You have no idea how many times my neighbor has heard me scream and curse at the at the top of my lungs.

This Product Does Not Work Against Rabbits
After exploring and attempting other unsuccessful stratagems, I purchased this device with the sole intent of it deterring and repelling rabbits from dining on my lawn. Thus, my one star review is predicated, in the main, on the Garden Enforcer failing to perform this task. In my view, there are several factors with this unit that appear to lend to its ineffectiveness against rabbits: 1. The motion activated sensor is not attuned/designed to recognize the smallness nor quickness of rabbits. It appears to be effective against humans, dogs and (presumably) deer, but, unfortunately, not rabbits. Various sensor adjustments, equipment locations, configurations and placements were to no avail. 2. The tripod configuration of the unit itself appears to be a hindrance to rabbit deterrence. The unit cannot be lowered enough via the tripod adjustment mechanism for the motion sensors to detect rabbits even though the sensor itself, to a degree, can be adjusted vertically. 3. The Garden Enforcer's hose connection has an inherent design flaw. The hose connection descends vertically from the center of the unit to a terminus that is equidistant from the three legs of the tripod and that is only marginally situated above the base of the tripod at its most retracted setting. Attaching a hose to the connection effectively renders the lowest tripod setting to be ineffective as it does not account for the hose itself, i.e., the hose, when connected, is actually below the lowest tripod setting making the hose the fulcrum rather than the tripod. A better design would be to have the hose connection nearer to the top of the tripod so that the unit itself could be fully lowered so that the sensor could be more effective against smaller animals such as rabbits. 4. The unit has four operating modes: Off, Day, Night and Always. Since rabbits are primarily dawn and dusk diners, none of these settings ideally serves the purpose of deterring rabbits. As a result, I was compelled to set the unit on the Always setting. Until we adapted to its presence, during the day, the Always setting gave me and my dog a reminder of its existence! A far better solution would be to integrate a digital timer with this device so that on/off settings can be truly programmable, making the Garden Enforcer a more flexible tool. Orbit, itself, makes these very timers. I have one that works quite well. Aside from its inability to deter rabbits (and I suspect animals of similar size such as cats), the Garden Enforcer appears to be well constructed. The tripods are of metal construction and the plastic components appear to be durable. The sprinkler mechanism also works fine and can be adjusted for distance, radius and duration. The instructions were clear and It was easy to set up. A note about Orbit's customer service. Seeking advice on rabbit deterrence, I talked to two separate customer service representatives on separate days. Neither of the reps appeared to be at all knowledgeable about or familiar with the Garden Enforcer. In fact, one sent me a pdf of user instructions for the wrong product. Finally, in frustration, I was able to speak with a supervisor who was more familiar with the product, secured some technical input while I was put on hold and provided me with some suggestions to improve the unit's effectiveness against rabbits. Alas. all to no avail. So, if it's rabbits you seek to repel, this is not the product for it. For humans, dogs and, I suspect, deer, it will likely be more effective.

tripod version: Check fittings for cracks and leaks, get a 45 degree elbow adapter
update: I just received the replacement unit and it seems to be a bit spotty on the motion detection. I will need to test it a bit longer, making adjustments to the range. amazon customer service helped speed up the delivery of the replacement and returns were easy since i didnโt have to print a new label. 1. check for leaks. my previous one had a big crack right on the brass connector. if it looks good, telfon tape and washers may be of additional benefit. 2. for the tripod version, you might need a 45 degree elbow attachment for the hose because the connector at the base may kink the hose when positioned lower to the ground. i got the 2ways metal hose 45 degree elbow with shutoff valve, which makes the attachment of a garden hose far easier, plus it offers the ability to control the waterflow before it goes through the unit. i can easily swap out hoses when i move the unit to another location. 3. i use 4 eneloop aa rechargeables. no issues (yet) with these. obviously these will eventually need to be replaced or recharged over time. 4. one reviewer mentioned upgrading to an all brass sprinkler head like the rainbird. maybe later down the line i will try this option. the existing sprinkler head is kinda cheap plastic and kinda sprays sloppily, but it works and does the job right now for what i need it to do. i also got the ground stake version. that one has worked reliably in driving away wildlife from a certain area zones. old review: Right out of the box, the brass fitting has a crack that goes right through, causing a severe leak. This is defective right out of the box. The ETA for a replacement is almost a month from now. It would be faster to buy it directly again and request a refund. Overall this has been a mess of an experience.

The deer keep their distance now
I purchased the Garden Enforcer to keep deer from getting into my flower bed and destroying all my flowers before they could even bloom. The tripod setup is nice because I can set it at the back of the bed and it is tall enough to see and spray over the flowers. Results so far have been excellent. I am literally learning what color some of my own flowers are for the first time because in the past the deer have always eaten the blossoms before they could even bloom. All in all this seems to be a quality product. Overall fit and finish is good and setup was easy. Two issues to be aware of: This will not work on squirrels. Generally they don't seem to trigger it, and when they do they don't seem to particularly mind it. You may need to buy a heavy duty hose. A normal light duty garden hose will swell and burst if used with this sprinkler for a long period of time because they aren't designed to be kept under pressure indefinitely.

Works for a year. Not durable or giving consistent result
Motion sensor is great. Shoots water considerable amount of distance. Consistency is questionable. After a year, the sensor still works to turn on but it is not stopping. So to avoid wasting water and create muddy lawn, I won't buy this again and recommend if anyone looking for long term (say at least 3 years).

Wrong parts packaged! Will update review if I ever get the correct part (their cust. serv. sucks!)
Bought the "Garden Enforcer" which is the large one on a tripod. "Ships & Sold by Amazon." Awesome. I trust Amazon to get me products fast and back them with replacement if there's a problem - and to not steal my money. Product arrived within 2 days. I went to set it up and immediately found that the attachment for the Control Unit is incorrect. On the control unit there's an attachment knob with has an arm that attaches to the product you bought. The arm they sent is the wrong one. It's meant to attach the control unit to the smaller "yard enforcer" sprinkler unit, which has a long neck pole it slides over. The "Garden Enforcer" needs a square receiving mount port on the arm that slides into a protruding square that's on the valve unit. (See photos attached.) No big deal I figure, I'll call their support line and get a proper part sent out asap. Problem #1: The wait time to talk to someone is over an hour at times. Problem #2: Crackly audio when calling in. The lady who answered my call eventually wanted to argue with me over whether it was her or me. I don't care who it is, I just want a working part please, but since she raised the issue, I used to work for Sprint & Nextel on their RF networks, and before that on land lines in the military. I know how to troubleshoot. When I first called in and tried to get someone I noticed it was crackly and so I hung up and promptly dialed 3 separate people I know, two local and one long distance, all without bad audio. So it was really pissing me off this lady wanted to argue with me about why the audio was crackly since I'd already tried to hang up and call back 3 times in an attempt to get a clear line. Then she informs me that since the COVID-19 dilemma they're "all working from home." Oh snap, you want to argue with me about phone connection issues and you're at home in your PJ's on whatever janky line you have there? GTFO. Ok, back to the part. She emails me a photo of a part that literally says, "No longer included in package - shorter version" and asks me if this is the part I need. WTH? You don't have a proper list of the components used to make up your product and you expect me to be able to identify what part you have in your inventory would work? Ridiculous. I'm having them send me the one she's got. If indeed it fits but is too short to extend the control (sensor) unit out to where it needs be I'll have to fabricate something with our 3D printer - but how many people have that ability. Hopefully the product works well down the road, but unless you have a 3D printer and a heck of a lot of patience I wouldn't count on even getting the correct parts packaged to HAVE a working product to start!

It actually works well !
it is easy to set up and we like the extra height as we have raised beds that would otherwise block detector. It has kept hungry deer from veggies but sad to report the unprotected Hostas around the yard have been chewed into submission. I may buy more for other side of house garden area.

Stopped working after a couple of months, customer support non-responsive
Motion sprinkler worked good last summer. It was put away last fall, without batteries, drained, and stored inside so it wouldn't freeze. When setting up this spring and placing new batteries in it, it had a mind of its own. Off/Night/Day/Always selector had no effect, sprinkler would randomly go off with no motion, but nothing would happen when there is motion. Completely useless now. Tried contacting customer support through phone over 5 times now, no response. No other way of contacting them other than thru their "call back" number. Would not buy again. Would not recommend this company.

Keeps the deer out of the garden!
Works really well! I do seem to find the motion sensing range isnโt 40 feet as advertised. More likely half that distance. I am still happy with this purchase! It does what itโs designed to do.

Motion detector sprinkler
It arrived but the sprinkler head was broken so we had to purchase a head for it in town. Now that it is all set up it works amazing.

Tripod broken on first use.
The clamps on the tripod legs are very cheaply made and one has broken on first use. Thin clear plastic is inside holding everything together. I get stronger plastic on many product's plastic packaging. The sprinkler itself doesn't have that really sudden start like the Scarecrow does so is just not as startling to the deer and my dog. The motion sensor so far is the best feature but it has only been a week in use. I am trying to contact Orbit for warranty since I ordered this in advance of garden season while there was still stock and amazon's return has expired. So far, Orbit hasn't been easy as they do not list the Garden Enforcer product in their warranty options, just the Yard Enforcer. I put my claim in under the Yard Enforcer and will wait to see how good they are at customer service. Edit to say that I have not had a response from Orbit and am very disappointed. I have reduced my star rating to reflect. that. The detector is working well but it tied to a fence post to get it to stand up as one leg is useless. I
