A major disappointment
Of all the books I've bought on Amazon, this is one of the very few I've sent back and received the refund.I'm not sure where to begin. Foremost, any mention of the heresies of the Bogomils were noticeable for their absence. Sects such as these were instrumental in Western Europe as the Cathars, some of whom broke away to worship Satan, as did a few Bogomils earlier on.Moreover, the demonic names are nothing with which I've come about. The author gives the Lord's Prayer in reverse Latin. Russia was an Easter Orthodox kingdom, I would at least expect the inverse of the prayer to be backwards Old Church Slavonic. This book reminds me of the cooked up "traditional witchcraft" coming out of Britain strewn with take offs of A.O. Spare's "Alphabet of Desire". I've seen this sort at work in attempts to vamp up Middle Eastern workings with the Djinn; when sigils are missing from the old manuscripts, just insert design bollox from "personal gnosis" .To be fair, I've not read the author's other book on witchcraft (but I question its cover art which depicts a tree carved with what looks like Voudon veves, but I digress). In my opinion, being familiar with medieval occultism, this work is just a sensational whole cloth fabrication.

Fascinating
Such a great book. The author sets out at the beginning telling the reader not to try any of the workings in the book; Russian black magic requires study under a mage before attempting any of it. It is still a very interesting book. Well written, clear, easy to understand, no flowery language. Covers a myriad of subjects. Russian black magic requires animal sacrifice. So be warned. This book is not for fluffy bunnies.

A good book but not exactly Russian/Slavic
The title of this book is very misleading. I don't see anything slavic about the book itself, considering its a book on theistic satanism. If that's what you're looking for then this is a good book for that topic. But calling it russian or slavic is a stretch. The second to last chapter made me physically cringe when I saw the title "A Pact Woth the Devil." The book does have good sections on church and graveyard workings as well as blood magic which is enough for me to keep the book in my collection. The contents and spell in both of the authors books are heavily influenced by her being initiated into Haitian Vodou. The author has potential to write a good book on Slavic practices if she is indeed a hereditary witch like she says but I've yet to see any proof of that statement to be true in her books thus far. If you're looking for slavic paganism/witchcraft you're best to look elsewhere for information on the topic.

Not for me.
First & foremost, I have just recently gotten interested in Slavic witchcraft due to my eastern european ancestry, therefore I truly have no clue if it is true or not that this book of full of misinformation; however I would definitely take that thought into consideration, considering more than just a few people have said that not just about this book in particular, but her other book as well. I have to admit though, I do have her other book & I absolutely loved it. That’s why I decided to then check out this title…again coming from someone brand new to not only Slavic magic, but european witchcraft in general (I practice Hoodoo) I thought that this was a very interesting book. I personally felt it was a little too much for me, though. So please hear me when I tell you, this book is not for the faint of heart.

I was really disappointed by this book. When I saw it on Amazon, I was really excited— I've been looking for books about Slavic deities and paganism, and this seemed to fit the bill. However, there's such a lot of false info in this book, even for one about wicca. (Sorry, I've found a lot of books about wicca/witchcraft to be barely researched and pretty fanciful.)For starters, the author talks about "hell icons" as if there were a real thing. A quick Google search shows us that no, in fact, they are not real. In Chapter 4, instead of explaining more about the duel faith of a lot of Slavs, the author decides to do a random comparison to widely different religions and faiths: Vikings, Hindus and Satanism are all tossed into the mix. While she does this, I have no idea, because her comparisons don't add anything to the book, and don't seem to be that accurate. I would have lot to have read more about the idea of duel faith. It is touched on in the first few chapters, but I honestly don't know how much of this book is just straight up fiction. At least she doesn't talk about the Book of Veles. This book doesn't have any useful info about Slavic deities, or any actual sources, in any language. I don't recommend trying any of the cemetery spells in the second half of the book. They will either not work at all, or summon some bizarre creature straight out of Master & Margarita.(Sources: I live in Poland, and I've seen a lot of examples of the duel faith concept.)

Appalling, outright lies!
I have been practising for many years, both spiritually as well as being an academic researcher, and I can tell you this book is filled with misinformation. Would not recommend this to anyone. So now I have a book which I would genuinely not pass on to anyone, except to burn it or something. Don’t waste your money. The only black magic involved here, is to cheat you out of your money.

Disappointed
If you do the "spells" in this book, you're in for some serious trouble. I wonder if this is a book to keep people away from sorcery, because the information is misleading.
