Quick tip - the Fosman Open Alert luggage lock is easy to set up, effective in protecting your luggage, and alerts you when TSA has opened it to inspect your bag. A good option for securing your luggage. I travel quite a bit and get concerned about people getting into my luggage. I don't often carry anything super valuable in there, but I just don't like the idea of people getting into it and rummaging around. When your luggage is unsecured it is way too easy for someone, with a flick of the zipper, to open your bag, dig in and look at all the contents, and zip it back up in moments without anyone looking. I learned a long time ago - most thieves are lazy and look for easy targets and respond to invitations. I don't leave valuables sitting in my car seat when I park and I lock the doors. I close and lock my house. It only makes sense to close and lock my luggage. If you don't use a TSA approved lock, though, you are definitely going to get searched. They will cut that lock of and see why you were trying to keep them out... so, a TSA approved lock is perfect. The TSA have a little key they can use to open the lock if they want to inspect your luggage - it won't damage the lock and they will lock it back up when they are done. They will also leave an inspection notice inside your bag... This little lock has a cool extra feature, though. It has an alert that lets you know when it has been opened with a TSA key. If your lock's alert is up and there is no TSA notice, you know someone got in there who wasn't authorized and can check your stuff and contact the airline if necessary with proof that someone with a key got in. If someone really wants to get into your bag, this lock won't stop them... but it will stop the casual thief - which is most of them.

Nice little lock. Solid construction. The combination is very easy to set. Buying the two or three pack is more cost effective. The single lock is kind of pricey.

Only had it for a few weeks and the brand name on the lock body is already fading away. Not sure how the rest of the lock will fare. Only time will tell i suppose. Definitely not worth the asking price. You can buy similar locks for much less elsewhere. Comes with clear setup instructions.
