Very Good Umbrella Lighting System for a very good price.
First, I am a beginner at videos and photography, however, I know ISO-9001 quality and performance. I just received the LimoStudio Photo Continuous Lighting Kit LMS103. Have had other lighting systems and by far this one is the best for the price. Remember, this system is low cost so handle with care and it will go far. Pro: * Good shipment of product and no issues. The box has NO dings or crushes. *Good sturdy stands. * Free one replacement bulb-purchased warranty for six months. *Good quality light sockets. *45W CFL bulbs for All three light stands. *Umbrellas are good quality compared to other lighting systems. *Product was delivered without any issues. No broken bulbs, torn umbrellas, etc... *The two carrying cases were fine for the price. Not sure why other reviews thought they were marginal. *The manual provided was good even though you didn't really need one. Easy setup. Con: *Plastic knobs did not feel strong. However, if you be careful tightening knobs it should be ok.( Remember these are low-cost products). *Depending on room size and room background, the bulb may not be bright enough for some situations. For me the lights are fine. My room is 12 x 12 and only one window with afternoon light. This three lighting kit was fine and produced great video and photo lighting. Summary: I will update this review as I get more experience with the LimoStudio lighting system. Overall, I believe I would buy this product again based on my first impressions, and price remembering users need take care when using, tear-down and re-setup overtime as with most “low-cost systems”. Side note: It’s NICE to get a product delivered and setup without ANY problems of broken pieces etc; due to lack of manufacturing quality control issues, as I have experienced in the past.

Great light set for those on a budget
I'm a bit above an amateur photographer, but in general I'm a natural light photographer so I haven't had the need to invest much in lights. I have a couple remote flashes and trigger that I've been able to make work for some indoor shooting. As I needed to take better pictures of my paintings, I finally decided I needed to invest in a light kit. Something like this can cause hundreds or even thousands, which I just didn't want to do. I figured a small investment in the LimoStudio kit would either do the trick or convince me I needed to make a bigger investment. No need to keep you guessing - this set gets the job done. I included a photo of how I set the lights up to photograph a fairly reflective painting. I turned off all other lights (at night) and aimed the Limo lights towards the ceiling to bounce the light rather than point directly at the painting. This lit up the painting enough to where I was able to take a good picture without glare and at a reasonable exposure. Other reviewers have said the lights aren't very bright. I did not find that to be the case. In fact, if I had a light and a half, it would have worked perfect for me. Instead, one light was not quite bright enough and two lights was almost too much. No need to even bring in the third. Judging from photos from a few other reviewers, it looked like they were using this light set in combination with either natural light or other lights and even without the umbrellas. With so many competing lights it would be tough to manage. The tripods and swivel connectors aren't great quality, but they get the job done. The umbrellas are fairly thin, but they work fine ultimately. I had the tripods fully extended and they didn't have any tipping issues as some suggested. I wouldn't use these outside though. The cases aren't high quality, but again, they work. I like that the bulbs are meant to be stowed in their original packaging in the included bag so they will be pretty well protected. I appreciate the lights have long cords so I have a lot of flexibility in placement. All told, this set does everything it needs to at a great price. I don't know how well it will hold up over time, but I'm not too worried about it for a relatively small investment.

Cheap but effective
Out of the box one of the tall stands has a busted leg lock. I'll see how they handle a replacement. The stands are cheap, no doubt. The light sockets are cheap but not bad. The umbrellas are fine. Fact is, I really like this kit. The carrying cases are really a nice touch. Nothing about this kit gives an impression of being rugged, including the cases, so you'll have to go easy and take care of this gear. If you're the type that does that, it should serve well. Keep in mind that this is a low cost kit and the gear shows it. But I'm still glad I can get 3 point constant lighting this cheap. The lighting is effective, but don't be surprised to see that you'll have to keep the lights close in to get it right. Do not expect to set these up at longer distances as the effectiveness of the lights drops off pretty quickly as you pull them back. Also, my tests show that even though these bulbs are 45w, don't let that fool you. They are large bulbs and they are absolutely pure white. I think the bulbs are excellent. I compared them to a 100w CFL bulb I had and the white color was off quite a bit and it wasn't as bright as the stock bulbs. Then I tried a daylight CFL 60w lamp bulb and it too wasn't as bright even at higher wattage output and the color was not pure white. The kit bulbs are actually very good. The kit as stock will get you going but here's what I believe is needed for a truly flexible kit, which will require add ons and are available on the cheap on Amazon from limo. Double head sockets for each stand for light intensity flexibility, more kit bulbs to accommodate the double heads, another umbrella and another 86" stand. That will really do very well to complete this kit. This stock kit is the right price with enough gear to get you going for 3 point lighting. Just take extra care with it and that will help it last.

Excellent quality of stands & umbrellas - replace weak light bulbs
I was surprised by the quality of the stands - for the price, they're great! The lights themselves are pretty weak, for anything but unboxing videos, you'll need to replace them with better light bulbs. Still very much worth it. Stands are stable, feel strong, extend over 6 feet and fold quite short (please note - only 2, the third one is short mini stand), and while the light socket holders are plastic, they're of reasonably good quality. Umbrellas are basic and work well. Everything works smoothly, and I loved the carry bags they came in, especially the padded bulb bag. I looked for a lighting set that has the light stands that are solidly built and extend over 6 feet at a reasonable price, because I shoot on location and my equipment takes some punishment - it's worth it to me to simply replace the stuff from time to time instead of paying 100s for top of the line sets. This set hits all the points, and I suspect it will last me a long time.

An Absolutely Fabulous Kit for the Price!
This kit was definitely what I needed. For the price, I was very dubious as to the quality of the items. However, everything came packaged well and I ended up being impressed! I am currently working on starting up a Youtube channel, and needed proper lighting for my dim apartment so that my videos would be of decent quality. This kit is perfect for this. The kit comes with two tall light stands and one shorter one. They are all, however, adjustable in height and very easy to adjust to wherever you want them. The light bases themselves can swivel and rotate, making it easy to position the light exactly how you want it. The light bulbs themselves were packaged very safely and are of great quality. They really do put out a TON of light! It also came with two umbrellas to help properly diffuse the light from the bulbs. These can also be adjusted for proper positioning and they work very well. Two convenient cases carry the items. One for the stands and umbrellas, and one for the light bulbs. They are both super nice and easy to carry, making this a surprisingly portable kit! Overall, I love this kit and will recommend it to anyone who needs affordable but high quality lighting for pictures and video. Thank you so much!

but thankfully the seller did such a great job with inner packaging everything inside was untouched
It arrived several days earlier than expected. The outer Amazon box was all jacked up, but thankfully the seller did such a great job with inner packaging everything inside was untouched. I read some reviews before I bought this setup and seen many people gave it a bad review due to the light bulbs or quality of equipment. Everyone needs to understand it is a $55 setup, not a $1000 one, you get what you pay for. With that being said, I think this setup is worth more than $55. It comes with 2 decent bags, 1 for the bulbs and 1 for the rest of the setup. It all fits in these bags great. The light bulbs are as described. They are 6500K which just happens to be on the blue end of the spectrum. If you want lighting that is more white and less blue then get 5500K bulbs. If you want more yellow go with 4500K bulbs, etc. It is what it is. The blue tint does not bother me because I shoot in Raw which allows me to adjust white balance in post production anyway. If you are using this setup for photography for customers I hope you are not shooting in Jpeg anyway, you lose way too much detail when it comes to editing. But I am not trying to get off topic, this setup is awesome, the quality of materials is good. If you take care of your equipment you should have no problems anyway. I have a cheap $20 tripod people bashed, but we have been going strong for 4 years now. One thing to keep in mind, do not try and crank the bulbs and knobs down too tight, just get them snug and they should last a while. The umbrellas are thin, but seem to be nice quality. All in all, this is way better than I expected from reading the negative reviews. I was almost going to go with Cowboy Studio's same setup, but there seemed to be a lot of reviews about there bulb sockets being jacked up, so I decided with LimoStudio and am so happy I did. I figure one good session will pay for it. Soon I will upload a few sample shots that I have taken with this setup to hopefully give some people peace of mind.

After a lot of hesitation on making this purchase!! Here is another positive review.
UPDATED 01/30/2015 After reading all the negative reviews mixed with good reviews I was utterly puzzled as to whether I should order this unit or not. The reviews left me unsatisfied, undecided, The fear of wasting time on returns, and not solving the initial problem was a concern. Normally, when I read all the reviews off the amazon website on a particular product, I have a pretty good idea if the product is good or worthless. This time, I took a chance, knowing that I could return the product if needed.. Let me define the problem. Most cameras will not take good pictures of still items in inadequate lighting condition. Said pictures will either be grainy or blurred. Often times, a camera flash is needed, which flash, gives off horrible reflections, and is not acceptable for taking product pictures and closeups. Those people who reviewed this product and stated that the "quantity or quality" of light is not sufficient to take pictures of (objects on a table for example), are wrong. The light quality is bright white and perfect for taking pictures. If more light is needed, simply buy those metal reflectors with additional 100 watt daylight bulbs. The stands are well made also. No complaints whatsoever. Very easy set up. It's also to be mentioned that one of the stands is not as tall as the other two. I would say 2 stands go up to 6 feet extended, whilst the other is around 4 foot extended. I would not go as far as to say that there are 600 watts of light, but the bulbs and the diffusion of light is plenty bright enough to take any picture. (I'm taking one star off because the third stand is shorter. Who says we need a shorter stand? If you are selling three of them, then make them all equal.) Update 01/30/2015 I take back what I said regarding the shorter stand. After a lot of practice WITH POSITIONING THESE LIGHTS, the shorter stand should be used as a "fill light". This 3 way system is perfect for any camera since you can also play around with the exposure on your camera. I have found that adding a fourth light does not help at all. 3 lights is fine for taking product photos. Although these bulbs MAY not seem bright to our human eye, they are plenty bright enough to take pictures at with an exposure of zero. IT MAY BE HUMAN NATURE TO WANT TO ADD A FOURTH LIGHT (MORE LIGHT), don't !!! I am bumping up my review to 5 stars. Also, be it known this company has a very efficient customer service team, they responded immediately, when asked a question

Half good, half not so good
First the good news; the stands, umbrellas, and sockets seem good for the price - hey, it's less than $50 so don't be expecting a heavy-duty studio light set. It's definitely adequate equipment for it's very reasonable price. I'm very thankful for at least getting some extra stands & umbrellas out of the deal. The bad news; the 45 watt lights it comes with are FAR too dim to be useful for anything but supplemental lighting for video. Completely useless for photography, unless you plan to be set on a tripod with a cable release and pray your subject doesn't move, 'cuz at ISO100, f8, you're still going to be shooting at around a half-second or so. You may as well move closer to a window or just go outside. Upgrading to (much) higher wattage bulbs will be required if you're planning to use this set-up for photography. I was hoping to replace my strobe set-up with the CFLs since my strobes munch down batteries like there's no tomorrow; and the strobes I currently have do not offer any AC power option. It just seemed like it would be easier to move to constant lights. For now I'm considering going back to strobes w/ 24+ NiMH batts (so I can have a full set "in flash" while another is "in charger") - I may up that to 32 batts just for some "wiggle room." At least this way I -KNOW- I'll get good light, and hopefully the chargers can keep up with the usage. I'll probably order some high wattage CFLs for testing purposes, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Even with high wattage I'm begining to doubt CFLs can throw enough light to get a decent hand-held shot at ISO100. We'll see.

¿Vlogs o Foto?
